Hi LBrown,
I don't follow what you mean when you posted ?
Hi E,
What you suggest here might not be legal...

Hi E,
Sorry, I didn't make my self clear. I replied to your post where you said: "They can also offer card members access to exclusive auctions for deals that may not be offered to the non members as an incentive as well." It was this phrase in your post that I thought might not be legal.

7 & lhb....as an example, I receive offers from Amex frequently which are not available to non-card holders.

Re: Affinity Luxury Link Credit Card
Hi L and O,
Credit card companies, make it a point to have different classes of credit cards, like O said, AMEX is famous for offering their members all sorts of different deals, promos, etc (i.e. Platinum holders and the elite Amex Black card holder.) My suggestion was simply if you become a member (which usually involves some sort of fee) with LL the incentive to do so would be special offers, discounts, and access to private auctions etc. Just about every company out there rewards their frequent user members or club members.

7...I think this "VIP" status with the new credit card should also include exclusive opportunities to bid in restricted auctions (see my new thread regarding Hot Lists).

O,
This is something that LL is very familiar with as well. Here we are posting information in their community to, hopefully aspire to "VIP" status which will reward us with discounts, special events, and input into the future direction of the site. A credit card with this type of status would be something I'm sure many frequent travelers would subscribe to. I will check out your new thread.

7....if LL does their own credit card, they will also have the opportunity to offer bonus points when they have properties they are interested in increasing promotional interest.....in other words, I might take a second look at a property, if I knew I could increase my points standing with the LL card. What do think?enewseven wrote:

Re: Affinity Luxury Link Credit Card
Hi O,
I think that makes alot of sense to suggest adding a point value as incentive to steer traffic toward a particular auction. I know that would certainly factor into making a final decision when there are so many choices available. When I use www.opentable.com to book a reservation at a restaurant I've seen them add point values to fill restaurants at certain times.

Re: Affinity Luxury Link Credit Card
7...I assume you carry an AMEX card. Did you participate in their second annual "Make A Wish" offerings on the Internet? I think the top offerings this past Holiday Season were the opportunities to buy a Porsche for $5K. The on-line hits for this must have been astronomical. I tried but never managed to register a "buy" for one of the upscale luxury home memberships (it might have been www.quintess.com or another similar offering). There was a follow up article in the WSJ from the CEO of the company regarding the huge spike in interest as a result of their participation. I would like to see LL move in this direction...at least attempt to move their market offeringsmore upscale for those who have an interest.enewseven wrote:
