Which LuxuryLink hotels/destinations are on your agenda for 2007?
Which LuxuryLink hotels/destinations are you planning on visiting or thinking of visiting in 2007?
If I have time for 2 trips, I'd love to do both the Orient Express Machu Picchu package

and Soneva Fushi in the Maldives

What about you?

Our list is as follows:
1. March - Townhouse 31, Milan, Italy
2. April - Ciragan Palace, Istanbul, Turkey
3. May - Mas Passamaner, Tarragona, Spain
4. July - Fowey Hall, Cornwall, UK
5. September - Levante Parliament, Vienna, Austria.
They are all 3-nighters, since we can only take short breaks this year, but we are thoroughly looking forward to ALL of them!

Wow, BDSouza, what a wonderful lineup! Do you live in Europe? Just asking because otherwise that's quite a bit of commuting, I'd love to do it but from the western US monthly jaunts to Europe for the weekend would be quite exhausting. I'm lookng forward to hearing your feedback on these hotels, especially Ciragan Palace in Istanbul which is on my wish list....

There are so many packages on Luxury link which I would love to experience, someI knowI am very unlikely to experience due to distance and travelling involved from the UK, but ones which I am seriously considering are:
Las Alamandas - Mexico
La Mansion Inn - Costa Rica
Sabi Sabi - South Africa
The Fortress - Sri Lanka These are the main ones I am considering at the moment although there are just so many which interest me in the L.L. portfolio. The ones I have chosen are in no particular order. Out of these, I don't know which one I prefer.

I am guessing you must live someplace serviced by Ryanair or another discount European carrier. Either that, or you work for an airline or have your own private jet
?

If you are going all the way to Sri Lanka, you should really consider spending time in the Maldives, as long as you are "in the neighborhod"!

If we do choose the one in Sri Lanka then I will probably twin it with Dubai as we can fly direct to Dubai from Glasgow and we have a small apartment in Dubai so we could stay ther for a couple of nights before heading out to Sri Lanka.I must say though, Maldives is very high on my list and we could also do that easily from Dubai too.

You could do the entire Sri Lanka & Maldives trip on Emirates...an open jaw ticket should not cost much more than a RT. For example, Dubai to Colombo/Colombo to Male (just a 1 hour flight on Emirates) and then back to Dubai from Male, Maldives.
Not sure if you have your heart set on the LL package at the Fortress, but I have read great reviews of the Galle Fort Hotel on tripadvisor....it looks gorgeous and filled with historical charm...definitely a different style and vibe than the fortress, but also a fraction of the price. www.galleforthotel.com

The GaleFort Hotel looks beautiful too. I will go and check out the reviews on it. I would love to be able to do Sri Lanka, Maldives and Dubai together and as you say it can be done quite easily from the UK, but unfortunately we can really only be away from home for about nine or ten nights due to family health problems. I feel it would be too much to squeeze in to such a short time, although two of them would be fine.

We have been living in London for the last year, and most European countries are within 3 hours flight of London, so we have been capitalising on our stay here; plus the fact that we are restricted to short breaks this year. As it happens, I normally fly BA unless they do not serve the location I am trying to get to because I have had bitter experiences in the past with the low-cost options - if flights are cancelled or delayed there is no alternative but to camp out at the airport, no lounges, no pre-baording or advance seating, no concessions on hand luggage etc. By the way, we are fairly seasoned LL-ers, having previously been to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Germany, Italy, Fiji, and Portugal. If we can, we try to combine packages in the same region - one can have a fantastic holiday with a little planning! I shall let you know about the Ciragan Palace. I am working on the private jet option, but believe I can get a better bang for my buck by going on these wonderful trips instead!!

Went to Morgans Rock two weeks ago using LL. Using LL for Punta Islita at the end of the year. Would love to go to Cotton House and it has been on LL. (trying to fit it into our vacation schedule.) Might team up Hotel Finca Rosa with Punta Islita but haven't yet bid on this auction. (please don't outbid me...hehehah.) Still not sure about Phoenix in March. We have hotel reservations because I couldn't find an LL property at this point. I am still watching!
