I do focus on my air miles and my hotel points, but I don't spend weekend on mileage runs. I do try to maximize credit cards and look for special bonus deals.
I do try and use my miles for upgrades whenever I fly international.
Guess I am somewhere between mildly and obsessive compulsive.
I too do pay attention to my air miles, car rental miles and hotel points, and especially, credit card perks. However, I would never go so far as making special airline runs just to get an elite status. I have enough miles to fly business class on various airlines which is nice. We are off next week on another free flight to Germany and Austria for a months of skiing in the Alps.
I grub out every last mile I can ring out of any frequent flier program. Those AAdvantage miles came in handy for my recent trip to Peru.
I just love watching my miles tack up in my account!
I plead the fifth!
If it were not for frequent flier miles I know my family and I would have missed out on several trips over the years.
Yes, we chase miles and points.
I am sincerely praying American Airlines managed to stay in business and keep their AAdvantage program going. I have been working hard to put all of my charges on my American Airlines credit card in anticipation of flying Business Class or maybe even First Class when I go back to South America. Frequent Flier miles just might allow that to happen.
I love FFpoints!! Helped us with our trips to South America and Europe! Airfare is so high that any point structure helps! I will also be flying home from Virgin Gorda FIRST CLASS because first class points were less than economy....gotta love it!!
We too will be flying back business class on AA due to upgrade. Nice.... I am not complaining
My biggest issue right now is to try to use the rest of my "avios" points (points by British Airways.) Their new system is crazy! I was able to obtain two free tickets to South America so I can't complain. I do have some left so I keep trying. I think the best option will be travel in the US on AA or LAN flights between Chile/Uruguay/Argentina.
