Allegiant Changes Family Seating to be More Family Friendly
Good news for families on their summer vacations.......
Allegiant changed its check-in system so passengers under age 14 will be seated next to at least one adult traveling on the same flight.
The move comes as the busy summer vacation travel season gets underway and as as airlines, including Allegiant, have increasingly begun charging fees for advanced seat assignments, even in coach class. Many airlines charge extra for reserving a "preferred" coach seat, such an aisle seat or one in a roomy exit row. And some, including Allegiant, charge for any advanced seat assignment.
The change won't guarantee an entire family will be seated together. But it will keep children from being separated entirely from a parent or guardian.

This is one of the reasons my husband & I never, ever travel during the US summer. I can not even remember the last time I was on a plane in June, July or August. Rarely any kids in March when I usually take my 2 weeks. We occassionally go somewhere in April or May but even then it is still off season ;-0
Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

Agree! I think it is rather rude to ask someone to switch from an isle seat to a middle seat. An isle seat for a different isle seat, maybe....We make our reservations very early to assure isle seats. Unless forced by a flight attendant, I would not give up my isle seat for a middle seat. With two artificial hips, I need to be able to get up during long flights.

jsattapr2,
Very good, you caught me! Not even a spell check would catch that one. Of course, I meant aisle seat. You are quite correct.
