Many thanks! That might make or break the Lumix--kinda big for a compact battery charger. I think I'll have to see it to make mydecision. Love being able to get it at a good price @ Amazon.
Time to visit Best Buy to take a peek.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Been in transit home for 2 days from Tucson! Yes, two days to get home from Tucson. The incoming plane ATL-TUS for our return TUS-ATL had been hit by lightning on its way. So our flight back to ATL was delayed, and delayed……and delayed. The plane needed to be checked out by mechanics but there were no mechanics in Tucson; they had to be flown in from Salt Lake City. But I must say that Delta treated us well, putting us in a hotel in Tucson, and booking our two segments home in first class the next day for me and my husband. But I digress.
Back to the battery…..
I just used my tape measure and it looks like the battery is 1 ¾" x 1 ½" x ⅜". The charger is 3 ¼" x 2 ¼" x 1". Both are very lightweight. There is no cord for the charger is has pullout plugs that go right into the wall socket.
Thank you so much! Those dims are about the size of my Elph camera. Might be able to do that--love mine--2 X 1.5 X .5 . I, too, must have the plugin type charger--that is such a plus! No more cords--arghh. I put all the AV stuff in a small biz class amenities kit (recycling!) It's marked w/big "AV" on both sides so I won't lose it. I have 2 sizes, so I can graduate to a big girl camera. So far, that one is most appealing.
Which camera did you finally decide on?
Have to check them out at the store, but so far, Lumix is on top. I just got a cool little connection kit for my ipad. It has SD and USB--works for flash cards and so much more. I can even link my keyboard, as well as the camera. It's very tiny--like an old zippo lighter. My kind of toy--portable and lightweight.
Happy Hunting! You can't go wrong with the Lumix. It has so much to offer.
