Hi O,
I remember seeing the e-mail on "zero" auctions, but have there been any yet??? I haven't seen anything further on the subject.

Hey everyone...looks like the first $1.00 auction is due to appear next week. I'm interested to view the first offerings.

Hi VIPomegaGreat new icon! I think you're the first to load the new one. I'll do so asap.Yeah, you bet the $1 auction will quickly zoom in price if the property offered is a good one. What needs to happen is that a lot of LL's auctions start off at $1 (as is the case on Skyauction now). Then, there'll be more to choose from and someone may actually scoop an auction at $1 or a very low amount. Friends of ours have won a couple of Skyauction resort stays for $1 in the past three years. Each one turned out to be just terrific.curtiejoe

VIPc...I've looked at SkyAuction several times but never placed a bid. I would be surprised if any bidder is going to nail the firstLL"Zero" auctions for a $1.00.....I'm expecting anenticing destination! I just hope the auction is on a short fuse to separate the "players" from the "spectators."

Re: Luxury Link Hot List Auctions
hi VIPo
The launch of this new LL feature should spark a lot of unterest. As a result, it's bound to be a bit like a "sharks' feeding frenzy'. Once the initial excitement dies down and LL gets several of these new "0" auctions under its belt, things'll likely be a lot calmer. That's when some real great deals may be captured by the watchful bidder.

Re: Luxury Link Hot List Auctions
VIPc...ifwe read the information correctly, the "zero" auctions will be announced in the LL e-Newsletter....doesn't say anything about a generalannouncement on the web site in any other location. We think the objective is to increase more subscribers to their e-Newsletter and to encourage members to actually carefully look at subsequent issues of the e-Newsletter. In our case, "CHEAP" is not the primary motivation to buy an auction at LL....we are looking for the"QUALITY" and "GEOGRAPHY" of theproperty first....then we start shopping price.
If the destination holds no interest or looks marginal in quality....we wouldn't accept itfor "FREE."
Other opinions or ideas?

Re: Luxury Link Hot List Auctions
VIPoI'm in total agreement. First I'd check for destination, then is it first class, and finally: price. Now, since I love to travel, and as a self-employed retiree have the flexibility bof taking off almost wheneverI want, I try travel as much and as often as possible. Under such circumstances, since transportation costs are more or less set, I do appreciate the chance to grab a real steal on an auction (it's a rush to win an auction worth say $1,000 for a couple of hundred bucks or less! So, bring on the "0" auctions!VIPc

As CEO of a non-profit organization, I see the $1.00 auction from another point of view. I'll watch this opportunity and try to secure the trip as an auction item for our big fundraising event. Cheers

Hi marolyn,
Excellent idea. I have seen this approach used on e-bay by other non-profit organizations, like Red-Cross etc. I am sure you could put such a package to good use in your fundraisers. Good luck.

marolyn...how about checking with Nancy Taylor at Customer Service for LL before you buy an auction item and attempt to place itin your fundraising event? We're uncertain if items purchased on LL areassignable.....could be some restrictions, ifpermitted. We have no information regarding the agreements LL has in place with their suppliers.
