New DL Amenity Kits

I wish they gave these amenity kits to all business and 1st class passengers - I flew 1st to Peru a few times and while it is not an overnight flight, one of these ktis would have been nice since it was still a long flight! On one of the Peru flights we even had the flat bed seats but no kit ;-(

Anoteher perk to BizElite class:
"The Westin Heavenly In-Flight bedding includes a Westin Heavenly sleeping pillow and a high thread count comforter with extra-luxurious loft, as well as a lumbar pillow for passengers on flights of more than 12 hours."
Also new practices onboard, dealing with cabin lighting on long-haul flights, as well as some express meals n BE. Most will be implemented June 2013.
Off to Beijing this weekend--I'll be happy with the new amenity kit (which I haven't seen yet!)

Why would you think that? If you're not willing to pay what an airline charges for premium anything--seats, etc, why should they give all those perks away?
I just can't agree with you. Airlines know that if passengers want honey, they have to pay money. Most passengers want the cheapest fare. Many people still use third party websites, thinking they are getting a better price but thye don't really get support for cancels, etc... Airlines are not in the charity business and never will be.

They look great! Tumi is a great brand. I've never heard of the toiletry products. Not sure I like the lip balm being in a squeeze tube--now I have to put it in my 3-1-1 bag. Good thing I've saved quite a few of the Korres balm sticks...

We just got to experience the new Tumi amenity kits this week on our overnight flight back home from Hawaii. It's kind of ironic that all the products in the new Tumi bag are made in China, with the exception of the toothpaste that's made in the USA. And it clearly lists where all the items are made. LOL

Wouldn't it be great if the airlines had something in between.......seats that are a little larger......no middle seats.......for a price somewhere in between? I think an airline that did so would have a competitive advantage.

They do in a way--it's Economy Comfort on DL, Economy Plus on some others--most airlines have a version for a small surcharge [compared to biz/first prices] over coach. Not wider nor window/aisle, but more recline and more legroom.

Yes. I'm quite familiar with Delta's EC. ......OK for short flights but for long flights, it's not much better. I guess I should be thankful I get it for free because otherwise I don't know if its worth it and EC is still miserable with a middle seat configuration.

I now have 2 kits. The Tumi bag is very nice--black fabric is lightweight--perfect for media cords and such. Long enough for sunglasses, too. Do not like the lip balm--it's kinda slimy. Nice eyemask and socks have no-skid grippers--happy they are black instead of red, blue or brown.
