New York hotel options
Hi... I'm planning a trip to New York City in the spring and need a two bedroom place (affordable, if at all possible) in the heart of things... We are hoping not to have to buy two hotel rooms, but rather some sort of 2 bedroom residence, suiteor something like that. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: New York hotel options
Hi CMDAVILA - I remember hearing recently about an LL package (maybe one of those hot deals?) at the AKA Central Park which is all suites with full kitchens and dining areas. It is a great location and I believe hearing that the LL package provided an excellent deal. Now, I don't know if the package was for a one- or two-bedroom suite but it may be worth waiting a bit to see if something like that comes back up. I know that they have two-bedroom/two-bath suites available at this hotel and it is supposed to be very nice.

Re: New York hotel options
I haven't stayed there lately but it used to have great suites for 4 adults:
Murray Hill East 39th/Lex 212-661-2100
I mentioned the New Yorker (34th and 8th Ave) in different thread--some of their suites are HUGE--multi bed and multi bath. 212-244-0719"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: New York hotel options
Hello,
I just returned from a stay at AKA Central Park on an LL package -- if you want a pied a terre in New York in a great central location I'd highly recommend it. It's only a few minutes from Central Park and from two subway lines (the F at 57th St at Sixth Avenue and the N/R/W at 60th Street at Fifth Avenue), and if retail therapy is part of your plans it's almost next door to Bergdorf Goodman and the new Apple Store. The AKA really does feel more like a posh modern apartment building than a hotel, though it has many hotel services (the best of both worlds).
I don't have much time to post now but I'll try to add some more detail tomorrow.
Cheers,
Julian

Re: New York hotel options
Hi CMDAVILA,
Try the Southgate Tower in NYC. This is a nice apt. hotel and probably less money than the AKA.
371 7th Ave, New York - +1 212-465-1168
I can also recommend the Murray Hill that Kyshel mentioned. We have stayed there a number of times and it was excellent.
Also have a look at my NYC VIP Blog about things to do in NYC if you have some spare time.

Call me old fashioned but I still like the St Regis Hotel or the Plaza. These scream New York to me. Enjoy! The above mentioned properties certainly would be fun to feel like a true New Yorker ...Funtimes

Re: New York hotel options
Thanks, everyone, for your input...I've been doingmy research on the recommended hotels... FYI, the 37th/Lex location is running about $600.00 per night for the two bedroom, and the rest of the properties for Affina Hotels are ranging between $700.00 to $1000.00+ per night.
Since I have every intention of shopping my brains out and eating until I cannot move, I want to spend the least amount on my room as possible, but of course, staying somewhere decent. It appears that the 37th/Lex/Murray Hill offering is right on target!
Again, thanks for the help.

Hi Julian,
The AKA Central Park looks YUMMY! If it were only two, I'd be staying there... I keep noticing the packages on LL and am dying to pick one up - next time!

Re: New York hotel options
The double double (queens, I think?) tower suites at the New Yorker with extra bath and balcony and living/dining/sofa bad space are running around $600...they should allow quad occupancy and include bfast at their "diner" restaurant.
