The Next Luxury Link VIP Event

I'd say yes to an invitation to Necker in a heartbeat, miss as many days of work as necessary, sell my first born son, etc! I keep seeing Branson's place on TV and I drool everytime I see it!

Good news is that Branson might be developing one of the other islands in the BVI group. It SUPPOSEDLY would beless expensive and less exclusive than Necker Island. I BELIEVE there are different groups looking at the feasibility of developing another island for tourists. I BELIEVE the project would be eco-friendly and not overwhelming. Hopefully we can gather more information about this possiblity during 2008. I really hate some types of development that cater to the masses. I do believe that this project doesn't sound like that. Anyone else hear about it?

As much as it's a lot of fun to speculate and fantasize about the location of the next VIP Event, I am slowly but surely reaching the view that there may not be another such special event. It's seems clear to me that LL was not been keen in 2007 to arrange one and now, with new folks at their executive level, who are making drastic changes that affect the VIPs (witness the reduction of the VIP Gift Certificate down to a mere $250), it seems less likely that LL wouldspring for spending big bucks to bring a bunch of VIP Contributors to some swank destination just so we can rub elbows together.

It is disappointing to think that no plans would be made for a VIP event in 2008It would really be enjoyable to meet all the LL community of characters that I've engaged in conversation with here. The LL group seems to have so much in common! It would be great to meet. Too bad our plan to meet in Paris with LHBrown is awash since our schedules are off by merely one day darn it maybe we can create our own VIP event Any ideas?

this thread has exceeded 17 pages--that is totally ridiculous for a forum. I think LL needs to monitor and clean up some of these posts

kyshel, I agree. This thread should be eliminated, since we don't know if there will ever be another VIP Event. omegaet, can't you just knock out this thread, since you started the initial post?

i was informed of the change in the VIP GC amount in an LL E-mail to me dated January 4, 2008. Don't know if there's been a general announcement on this, though I suppose it's likely of real interest only to those who are now VIPs or aspire to becoming one. Tes, I'm very disappointed that you and I will miss meeting each other in Paris this May by just one day...had the same sort of luck when I heard that both lhbrown and I would be visiting Florida early this year and staying very close to each other in the Sarasota area. As it happens, she's just left for Paris and I'll be in Florida in two weeks' time! Oh, well, ships passing in the night, seems to be the common thread here. Don't know about our travel plans for this fall yet, so can't suggest another location where the three of us could hook up for our own VIP Special Event.

Perhaps something will work out.

t-2-f & kyshel.....we don't think (or at leastwe haven't figured out) there is anyway forus to eliminate this thread even thoughwe originally started it. It's OK with us if LL wants to knock it out. The information and discussionsdo seem a little outdated, given thefact the New York VIP Event did not occur in 2007 and there has been no disclosure of a similar scheduled event for 2008. It is easy to see how new visitors ornew community members could become confused. Go ahead LL_Moderator, work your magic and make this thread go away!

Iagree that 17 Boards on this particular topic is a bit cumbersome. Obviously, there has been a whole lot of interest and discussion about the next VIP Special Event, andIF, WHERE and WHEN it'll take place. I do NOT agree with the idea to drop the topic! If this is done, then it'll be a lot easier for LL decision-makers to simply forget about having such an event all-together. Since it was Ll that made a reference to the "up-coming" VIP Special Event in its Newsletter some time ago and stated in print that it would be taking place at The Pierre Hotel in NYC, I feel wthe onus should be kept on LL to actually hold such an event sometime in the near future. That would not only be of benefit to the existing LL VIPs (who could meet each other face-to-face for the first time and also get to know the LL staff in person) but also serve as a terrific marketing/advertising tool for LL, as top travel business reps from across the USA will presumably also be invited. Perhaps a new Board could be set up called "VIP SPECIAL EVENT 2008".

I agree with your suggestion of setting up a new VIP Event 2008 Board, if LL indeed is intending to hold a VIP Event in 2008. It is unfortunate that LL put in print announcing the 2007 VIP Event at the Pierre Hotel in NYC and then never following through with it. I know LL is going through a lot of changes, but if indeed there will be a 2008 VIP Event, only LL knows and from them, sofar, the word is MUMM..... so stay tuned.....
