Unfortunately I haven't been to North Island yet which is why I suggested it -- but I have added it to the 'suggestions' board. Hopefully LL will take note!

It's news to me. I've seen nothing about the 'Necker Island' rumor except what I read in omegaet's post. Please enlighten us and explain the humor involved. I'm mystefied.

The mention of the next LL VIP event in NYC has fueled a few fantasies! We can only hope the LL moderators are taking notes. O can clarify if I'm offbase, but I think Necker Island had been mentioned in another discussion and the "rumor" is purely part of the fun folks are having, speculating and dreaming about where future events might be held.


Also, a previous event is mentioned in the Fall 2006 newsletter. But how much fun could that have been, without this group in attendance? http://www.luxurylink.com/newsletter...r-20060919.pdf

Thanks for posting the link to the Fall newsletter (we had previously read it).Attending one or more of these VIP events would be interesting (even though it is primarily an "industry event" and a business trade show, of sorts, for LL....showing the "insiders" how well they have done in the past and what they hope to accomplish in the future). I enjoyed theletter from Diane McDavitt, President & COO of LL....just the disclosure of $9M in additional financing is a strong indicator of the direction LL is moving and the future opportunities for individual consumers like us.

Who were the "LuxuryLink VIP Consumers" pictured on the top of page 2 of that newsletter?

Anyone we know ;) ?

The latest Luxury Link newsletter that you so graciously linked us to, contains a lot of very interesting information, especially for a relative newcomer to Ll (since end of Nov. 06). Fascinating to read about the last VIP get-together in LA lastMay and to see photos of some of the VIPs who attended.

Now, as for the next, up-coming VIP event, the newsletter says quite categorically that it's "slated to take place at the Pierre Hotel in New York City." Has that already taken place (perhaps in the fall last year)? Don't know how often these special events are held or even how often the LL Newsletters come out. So, if there's already been one at the Pierre, then are the 'rumors' referred to by omegaet and now others, somehow well-founded about the next venue being Necker Island (where is it?)??? Please, someone, clue me in.

I believe the event at the Pierre is still in the future. It would be nice to have details, in case some of us are able to attend. I gather that these events are mainly business-oriented, but LL will extend an invitation to VIPs in this community as one of the "benefits" of attaining that status. Discussion of rumors that there will be an event on Necker Island, North Island or anywhere other than NYC are purely for our amusement. Part of the fun is dreaming about a get together at such a location, and having LL pay our way is all part of the fantasy! Does that help? :)

It is fun dreaming! It would be great to meet LL management and other community members. I like Bonneyjoy's suggestion that we pick a place - she said Turtle Island - I think you mean Turtle Cay off Abaco in the Bahamas This would be a delightful destination. If anyone hears of LL meeting place - please keep us in mind We travel frequently but, fortunately are flexible enough to hopefully attend an LL event. Am I the only one not getting it? Now I'm more confused than before. If the event at the Pierre in NY hasn't happened yet, then what was the statement about it in the June 06 LL Newsletter all about? If the Necker Island rumor is just that, why not have oodles of other rumors floating around about possible venues (for our mutual humor and entertainment)? If it''s all speculative and open to fantasy, then anything and anywhere in the world is posssible. In fact I think we should suggest LL Community set up a special board called: Fantasy VIP Venue.

The snippet below, from the LL Community information under "Read More", indicates that the event has not yet taken place. Until we have some response from the moderators, we can only go on the information they have provided so far.

* Invitations to Luxury Link VIP Events
o VIP community members will be invited to all Luxury Link events, like the upcoming reception and dinner at The Pierre in New York City

I agree that while we're speculating, anything is a possibility. Maybe we do need a travel fantasy section!

Also, about Turtle Island, I believe bonniejoy03 was referring to Turtle Island in Fiji. That certainly qualifies for a spot on my travel fantasy list.
