The Next Luxury Link VIP Event

curt, maybe one of the upcoming changes mentioned in another thread will actually include the much discussed VIP Event. I have a feeling the change in leadership at luxurylink may have influenced the decision or at least the timing of the event.

Hi travel2fun. Am I out of it again? What change in leadership at LL? Did I miss something? Has the LL team said anything about 2008 events that I might have missed. (For example, continuing the quarterly GC to VIP contributors, every 6 month drawing, special events and invitations....maybe it was the Donna Karon invitation?) Thanks for helping!



PS- The VIP event would really have been nice at Necker Island though glad it wasn't a few weeks ago when the BIG wedding and party was in the area!

That whole thing about the flame wars was, in hindsight, quite hilarious. I'm sure it was started in order to inject some humour into these posts, but was taken by some as something else. I was just glad to see that the whole fooferall died down and everyone involved took it as a joke. I didn't take part myself but watched the goings-on from the sude.

I'd be thrilled if you're right and we actually get an announcement from LL early in 2008 that there will be a VIP Event held. What's this about the VIP Event possibly being held at Necker Island? This is the first I've heard of it. How and where did you get wind of it? And, where's Necker Island?

bonniejoy03, don't you remember reading about Drew Marich being appointed as CEO of luxurylink last October? He came over to luxurylink from eBay.....haven't you noticed subtle and not-so-subtlechanges taking place since this announcement?

Glad you provided a link to the LL's October, 2007announcement of their new CEO. Drew Marich has quite a background with eBay and several other businesses (a number of which deal with food). Interesting. It'll be fun to see what kinds of changes he initiates on LL.

t-2-f, I noticed the fees have increased, the luxelife list has been reduced to wine and real estate and there seems to be more European offers that previously. What other changes have you or other membernoticed since the arrival of Mr. Marich?

This morning I noticed on the upper left side of the page a new category "auctions under $1000." Quite interesting in reordering the ways we can search for properties.

I started reading this thread and realized the issue of the next Luxury Link VIP Event has been under discussion for a year. How did this rumor get started? Did Luxury Link actually promised to stage a VIP Event? I am not 100% familiar with this web site, but I have yet to come across the information regarding the commitment to hold this event. Can someone fill me in on the details? Thank you.
