The Next Luxury Link VIP Event

js2...it would appear LuxuryLink has delayed or placed a temporary "hold" on the next VIP Event. We don't know why or what the delay is all about....we just know there hasn't been any specific communications sent to the current VIP Members or posted in any of the threads. There is always a bit of mystery and uncertainty involved with this community.....so, just participate and see what develops!

You're so right about the air of mystery that often abounds here on the Ll Community, especially when it comes to the fabled on-again off-again VIP Event. For most of 2007, the discussion focused on The Pierre Hotel as the likely venue of the "promised' spectacular. Then, a while ago, I saw bonniejoy make a reference to Necker Island as a possible site. I promptly asked her for more details on it but so far she has not replied. As one who always seems ahead of the game here at LL, you are my #1 choice for "inside" information. As such, what if anything do YOU know about Necker Island?

Hi curtiejoe, Necker Island has been mentioned purely for our own amusement while speculating the possibilities for a VIP event. This exclusive island in the BVIs would be an awesome location, however there is not a flicker of a chance that this is a real possibility for the location. It is purely a fantasy, once that we like to revisit from time to time. Hope that helps clarify the reference!

Hi Curtiejoe. I am so sorry I missed your post directed to me about Necker. I would LOVE to have it there but it was only a great suggestion on my part. Unfortunately, I do not believe LL would be able to take all of us there gratis! I can only dream and keep plugging my idea of a great VIP event destination....Mr Branson...if you are out there.....what do you think???

The mysterious Necker Island has been revealed! I take it this exclusive retreat may be owned by super-entrepreneur Richard Branson, President of Virgin Airlines and us used as an exclusive haunt by the rich and famous. I can well understand therefore why it would have featured prominently as a "dream" or fantasy location for the up-coming VIP Event. Thanks for clueing me in.

curt and omegaet, after reading the posts in this thread, I am surprised thequestions regarding the next Luxury Link VIP Event have not been directly addressed byan officer or staff member. I wonder why the reference, under VIP Status,continues to be displayed regarding he upcoming event in New York, if their intentions have changed? Certainly, their advertising clients must have the same questionsregarding the event.

Excellent point you've raised about expectations of LL's advertising clients. Surely, they too must be wondering if and when the next VIP Event's to take place. You'd think it would behoove LL Amin staff to consider the implicationsfor their clients. Also, from a PR perspective alone, it would be beneficial for all concerned if the "promised" event actually took place sometime soon.

Ah yes, who doesn't love to dream! How sweet it would be if Branson sent all the VIPs a personal monogrammed invitation to spend a few days and nighta at his secluded Necker Island retreat. I'm sure all of us would be more than happy to review his property there and write many, many posts on it for all on the LL Community to drool over.

Absolutely. Thanks for the seconds to this idea!! Plus, if Branson were to develop the surrounding area/islands, we would be able to critique it first hand. I believe the entire VIP group would gladly miss work or rearrange their travel schedule to SQUEEZE Necker in if an invitation came. We can still lobby for Necker!
