You're right, omega. I guess none of us knows the specific criteria, and that's fine.
I've seen somuch quality content

Re: Luxury Link VIP Events
Hi Fred
I believe I'm the 'culprit', as several posts ago I suggested that based on the first group of VIP Contributors selected last year, it "seemed" that a total of around 200 posts may have been one of the criteria used by the LL Moderators in choosing the appointees. By the time the second small group was announced not so long ago, it was evident that folks with a much lesser post-count were announced as new VIPs. At the time, I made the point that obviously many other factors/criteria dealing with "quality" rather than "quantity" of posts were being used to determine eligibility for VIP status. Yet, the silly 200-post figure seems to crop up again and again. Frankly, I wishpeople would forget all about it and focus on quality postings instead. Good luck to you and other new-comers on the LL Community.

Thanks. And I'm sorry for perpetuating the conjecture. Consider it forgotten on my part!

congratulations mr hashway on your new status. Am still not clear on the rules.Looks like quantity is a big factor. too bad. would have enjoyed offering blogs on my many years in africa (where others have not travelled), the caribbean and years in italy, first hand and local.and am still amused that those who offer 'thanks' to some other messages rate higher than the original message (fascinating that most of the time those who log a thanks are already atVIP status members). i dont understand this much, suspect as the rules are not transparent,as that isnt intended.

obrienkf....we find your travel history and insights quite interesting. Until such time as you are able to post your own blog, why not go ahead and start newboards on Africa and Italy? We are heading off to the Dolomites region of Italy shortly and would welcome any insights you might offer on that region!obrienkf wrote:

Re: Luxury Link VIP Events
Anyone have any word yet of the date for the VIP event ? I've been very busy these past few weeks between work, finalizing the wedding plans and of course the honeymoon plans ! Also, quick question about those plans, I remember some posts about shipping luggage, can anyone please share the details again with me (company, when to have everything ready, etc) or should I just use Fed Ex ?? Thank you !

7....I have used The Luggage Clubwww.theluggageclub.com for a couple of items I wanted taken overseas and I just couldn't deal with a lost bagand they have gotten the job done. Their service is expensive....but for a special event such as a honeymoon, you might want to check into what they would charge to your final destination. I have a business associate who swears by Luggage Free www.luggagefree.com. Might be worth looking into what they can do for you.
Hi O,
Yes I have taken this under consideration regarding lost baggage. Most of the places I've looked into, do have connections which is a concern. Some of the destinations also have high speed ferry access which would be a possibility in avoiding multiple planes. What I've decided is if I do come across that type of situation with multiple planes I will have our baggage shipped one week before we leave so that we won't have to worry about it, Fed Ex is better with baggage than the airlines are

Enews - congratulations on the upcoming wedding and honeymoon! Glad to see you on the board, at least for a little while. I remember how crazy things got around our wedding - hopefully you and your fiancee are keeping sane.
You might want to check out the Luxe Life luggage offerings - there is a gift certificate available for the Luggage Express Gift Card available for a little over $500, a $900 value. Not sure if you think you'd use the service beyond your honeymoon but it might make sense financially for this trip and others. I've never used the service myself but it sounds interesting.
Back to the VIP event topic - I'd love to go, of course it depends on dates but I have family in NYC and get there often so just say the word, Luxury Link! Sounds fun.
