I fly nearly free on DL in business class and my flights are all standby. It doesn't work for us--just sharing the info--pretty interesting offer tho!

Yep--the Boss is 24 yrs (tomorrow) with Delta. I am so fortunate to be able to fly nearly anywhere in the world for peanuts (well, sometimes you can't open a bag on board due to "allergies" haha) We get deeply discounted fares on most major airlines, but those are all standby after their employees clear standby.
My "spoiled brat" attitude is such that I may get coach class for a long haul flight and I'd rather spend the night and try again the next day for biz class...
I have lots of miles I've earned prior to becomoing airline spouse so we use those for upgrades if we need to by regular ticket. I've been thru close to a mililon miles in my lifetime. (and I still have 22K US Air miles!)
Our flights on DL and commuter lines is free domestically and fees/taxes only for international.
The BIG disadvantage is having to get the extra hotels on each end of a trip and being flexible is not easy--we work with Plan B and Plan C and hope for the best. We've been pretty lucky due to his seniority but we've hit a few snags overseas...we just go with the flow in that case....
