No extras in many Preferred Hotel Packages

I noticed for the first time a property that didn't include a mandatory 18% tax and 5% service charge. That's a whopping 23% on top of the cost of the package. I wonder if they figure the percentages based on the price paid or on the regular (list) price. It's the Costa Careyes in Mexico. I hope this is a unique situation and not a Luxury Link trend.

Hi P. Peter Island Resort in the BVIs has always had the mandatory charges to be added to your package. Very interesting. It is quite an addition!
