Norway in a Nutshell Trip
I'm coordinating a trip to Scandinavia this summerfor my daughter and friend, and they are considering taking two days to do the "Norway in a Nutshell" trip. What I cannot figure out is where they should stay once they get into the Flam area. Mind you, the two traveling are college students, so I'm looking foran easily accessible by walking/bus/train,budget oriented area. Should they spend the night or do a long day "up and back trip" from Oslo? I realize that they could spend days in Norway, but they are working their way across Scandinavia to Stockholm and Helsinki (and perhaps Tallin, Estonia) to hear some of the great music festivals going on. However, the idea of seeing the Fjords is something they really do not want to miss. Any thoughts?

Hi Cathy
Have you tried the website www.fjordnorway.com there is a listing for Norway's youth hostels under www.hostelsnorway.com. This might be a good site to start. Good luck to your daughter and friend. The www.norwaynutshell.com site looks most interesting. I am sure you or your daugher have checked that one out. Here is another website for Flam: http://www.alr.no which might be helpful.
