Maybe luxury Link will be offering some new properties in some or all of these places for us this year!- Ω -

Agree: Budapest (cruise or land only)
Tallinn (darn; I wish they'd kept it quiet since I haven't been yet)
Zanzibar
Colonia, Uruaguay was totally uninteresting to us--waste of time
If any other destination in Morocco is better than Fes, that's too bad; I won't bother going there due to people we encountered on our last/only trip to Morocco
Durham NC? Are they joking? Smoke a cig or chew a plug.
That is ONE WEIRD LIST. (and I personally know one of the contributing writers...)"wherever you go, there you are"

01-09-2011, 03:46 PMAs soon as I read this lead article in the Travel section of the New York Times, I started scratching my head in wonder. Although I haven't visited many of the 41 destinations, I can honestly say, I probably wouldn't accept free trips to 30% of them.
This was a strange article, indeed!

01-12-2011, 06:12 AMLet me just say this, with the way this winter weather has been in Tennessee, except for being able to escape to Key Largo several times, I would go almost any place on the list.
Probably not London - just too expensive and the weather generally sucks.
Durham doesn't seem too exciting as well.

I love London. The weather isn't great, but there's so much to see and do and the restaurants are great if you like ethnic food. Loreto, Mexico, is definitely on my list. I've been to around one quarter of the places on the list. I would like to visit about half the places. Santiago, Chile is high on my list as well.

Yes, I saw this article the other day. A weird list, although it gave some interesting reasons why to consider them.
But Durham?? Come on!
There are many places on my list, but then again most of the world is on my list.
- Chile
- Thailand
- The Danube
- Australia
- Turkey
- India (unfortunately my January trip to India was cancelled)
- Egypt
- Budapest
- Guimares, Portugal - been to southern Portugal would like to go to the northern part
- Morocco
Maybe LL will add some to their list!

One place that should be on the list is Kakadu National Park in northern Australia. Nothing like being in a small boat on the Yellow River and watching the wildlife wake up for another day. Birds stretching their wings. Monstrous saltwater crocodiles lying totally still in wait for their prey. Has anybody else been there? Highly recommended.
