outer banks hotels

I am looking for a great stop/hotel on the Outer Banks of NC just for a night or two on my way down to Hilton Head, SC. Only drive sedan, no 4 wheel drive access. Many thanks for some suggestions.

I live in NC, and have a great recommendation for you.
It's not a LL property, but you may want to look at Colony IV By The Sea in Kill Devil Hills, NC. I believe it also has positive reviews from TripAdvisor. Enjoy your trip to the Carolinas!

Since you are from NC maybe you know. Can I drive all the way (in a regular car - no 4-wheel drive) from Kitty Hawk down to Hatteras and out the southern end of the banks? my destination is Hilton Head.

The northern end (Carova) of the OBX may be limited to 4 wheel driver. But the areeas you've mentioned should be fine for any vehicle. It would be a good idea to ask the hotel you decide to stay with the best driving routes.
