A pizza party while waiting on the tarmac

Some passengers flying from Boston to Atlanta were diverted to Knoxville due to bad weather...….....then stuck in the plane, waiting for hours on the tarmac…...……and all of a sudden - poof - 30 pizzas were delivered! What a nice treat!

Yes, it was Delta. They think the pilot ordered the pizzas.

Hey, those Delta pilots have deep pockets. Buying pizza for the passengers should have been the least he/she could do!

btw, this happened in Tennessee. We're pretty nice folks up here. Even the police was kind enough to delivery the order.

Maybe it wasn't the pilot after all. A different report on this story says it wasn't the pilot who bought the pizzas.

"Michele Carson-Vaughn, Delta Director of Field Services for the Southeast says the pizza was the idea of the airline's Knoxville station manager."

This same report says that Knoxville wasn't the only place that surprised passengers Monday night.
"With 12 flights diverted to Savannah, Delta rustled up 160 pizzas for hundreds of passengers waiting it out for the weather to clear in Atlanta."

Way to go!

Honestly, I think I would much prefer pizza (no Little Caesar's Pizza) to most of the in-flight food available in coach these days, even if it involves a weather delay or being diverted.

As much as I love pizza, I certainly wouldn't change better food for a longer flight.

Completely agree about the quality of of the in-flight food though...
