I'm not sure if that's too much to ask for in a resort, but then again neither of us have ever left the country. I like would like to try snorkeling and swimming with the dolphinsso I was thinking(from what I have heard)Puerto Rico would be my best bet. I just wasn't this to be special fun and relaxing. Help!!!

pshia0615, give us a little more information. At least your wedding and honeymoon will be taking place after Easter (March 23, 2008), and that may help you a little with season rates, if you are looking at an off shore resort. What about a budget? What is your departure city? How long would you like to spend on your trip? You don't have to leave the country to swim and snorkelin warm water and spend time with dolphins (lots of all that is available in Florida at that time of year).
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
Hi travel2fun thanks for the reply....well, we were thinking all inclusiveand off the beach.....departure from detroit. 7 daysI think is perfect. and as for a budget I was thinking around $3,500.
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
Hi Pshia0615. My vote would be for the Turks & Caicos Islands. This might handle some of your needs. First, it is on a BEAUTIFUL beach. Beautiful white sand and beautiful water. Second, it is a relatively easy trip from Detroit. They don't have a "dolphin" show that is set up, they actually have dolphins in the ocean to see!! For example, a few years ago, Jo Jo, became the national symbol. Jo Jo is a dolphin that loved to see and greet people. Jo Jo is a wild dolphin. You will also see a lot of wild dolphins in the Turks. As to all inclusive, the only one I know of is Beaches. That is more of a family resort so am not sure if you want to do this place for a honeymoon. I recommend Ocean Club Resorts (west and East.)(www.oceanclubresorts.com) They have packages that include food (no drink.) There is a little bit of shopping. You would have a lot of fun with snorkelling, swimming, and relaxing. Check it out!
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
Congratulations, pshia0615, on your pending nuptials... bonniejoy's suggestion of the OceanClub accomodations is great! Keep in mind that where ever you go, it will be the Easter holidays/ spring break, so try and head for someplace that doesn't attract too many college students and families... nothing like drunk coeds and crying babies to ruin a honeymoon!

Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
Hi Pshia0615,
If you'er considering Turks & Caicos, there is an all-inclusive that's adults only. It's Club Med. They cater to singles, as well as couples. The beach is beautiful, as bonniejoy03 has described. The rooms at Club Med are not luxurious, but it's a lot of fun and the food is very good.
I have another suggestion, and that is the Riviera Maya. Stay away from Cancun and the spring breakers, but about an hour south there are many very nice all-inclusives. For example, on this LL website, check out El Dorado Seaside Suites. It is adults-only and has very good reviews. From this area you can take a snorkeling excursion. There is also an opportunity to swim with dolphins, although probably not wild dolphins.

If you have not already discovered it, TripAdvisor is a good place to look for reviews of properties that you may be considering. http://www.tripadvisor.com
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and enjoy the planning!
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
The Iberostar in Riviera Maya is an standing resort. There isn't much decent night life in Playa del Carmen (nearby town) but the resort facilities are really quite good and those dates should put you in with a party crowd. Since it's not budget-oriented, you can usually count on clientele being somewhat upscale.
There are also some very fine 5-6 star resorts in Dominican Republic to consider. I agree that tripadvisor.com is great source of property reviews, sorting them out by who writes the opinions and what interests you (ie--50 yr old European likes a place you may not ever consider). Keep us posted and congrats on your engagement.

Thank you everyone for your replies, it's great to know thatthere arepeople thattake the time and help others out. I will look into all of your suggestions, I really appreciate it.
We were looking into Puerto Rico what do you guys think about a honey moon there. It helps that its the United States we wont have to worry about passports.
Once again thanks very much for all your help!!
Tiffany.
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
I would not suggest Puerto Rico.
Some suggestions that seem to meet your requests:
Aruba
Hawaii...Kauai, Oahu north shore, Maui, or Big Island
Riviera Maya
You might want to consider a cruise. a 7-day Caribbean cruise seems like it would really meet what you like, and would take a lot ofthe details off your mind... most everything is included except for day trips. Pick one of the nicer cruise lines (not Carnival). Find a nice itinerary (not Bahamas; one that goes South). Splurge on a balcony room. You can search cruises on Expedia.
Re: Please help!! my Fiance and I choose a honeymoon destination!!
Hi Pshia0615. Glad you liked some of the suggestions. I really would suggest getting a passport EVEN if you don't leave the country. Its a great idea to always have a passport. Now, with that said, let's look at Puerto Rico. It sounds like you really want to go there. I have been to the Condado region. Nice area. Lots of cruise ships in the area though and pretty crowded. The good points are that you are near Old San Juan, beach, and casinos. I have never been to Vieques however, I hear it is a great vacation spot and less touristy. Air sunshine (www.airsunshine.com) has flights there from San Juan.
