Portugal Mystery Auction
Hi Community,
I know flights to Portugal may be the reason for so few bids on this auction, but the current MysteryAuction (which was just announced to be in Estroil, Portugal), will beclosing today at 2:30pm PST, and is currently only at $255. For a 3 night golfpackage that's an absolute steal! The validity dates aren't too bad either.
Just wanted to let you all know - It'd probably make a good side trip on aEuropean vacation.
Check it out HERE.
Cheers,
Katie

Hey ho, I bid for the first time at this! (Can you hear my excitement and heartbeat? :-))
My only concern for this trip is that, since I don't know the hotel yet, I can't check the availibility for the dates I am going to Portugal.... (And I don't play golf...:-))
(Sorry for my outburst, I am just so very excited for taking the first step to bid....:-))

no-backpacker....after the trip, how about posting some photos of you wearing those high heels sinking down into the greens....just assuming you have a pair of heels with golf spikes!

OH MY G** I WON!!!!
I am shivering.... It was SOOOOO exciting!
So... what do I do now? When will I know where the hotel is? It's soon midnight here in Norway and I am going to hold a course tomorrow, so should not be very tired, but how can I sleep NOW? :-D
Of course I will give you a trip report. Although it's not before May I am going (I PRAY I will get the package when I need it.......)

Just to let you know (if anybody is interested)... I called LL some minutes ago. The lady I talked to was very nice. She told me the hotel and when I asked her about availability in May for certain dates she told me she thought it would be easy to get. If not, I should call LL and see if they could help me. As you can understand, this was a pleasure and I feel I have SAVED (because our intention was to go to Estoril in May, so we needed a hotel) a lot. I am also excited because now we will have the oportunity to stay at two 5* hotels within the stay (the package was for 3 days and we are going for 5-6).
I should go to bed, but am still very excited. Do you have this feeling every time you bid, or is it only the first time?
(Again, sorry for my outburst, I just don't know where else to do it. We should have a forum for outburst when winning bids. :-D)

Congratulations nobackpacker! I just came home from dinner and refreshed the page to this package. I was so excited for you when I saw that one of our posters got it! And so cheap too. I second the need for a forum to post when you're excited about winning. I've seen many of our seasoned posters win and they never post about. I think they might if there were a forum just for that and we could share their glory.
BTW I know someone from Bergen and I hope to we make it there someday for a visit. So, I've heard much about your area of Norway and the pubs.

Congratulations NoBackpacker! Talk about Luxury Link serendipity. If you were planning on visiting Estoril in May it sounds like that package was just waiting for you to notice it. I hope you enjoy it and please do let us know how it is when you return home.
P.S. I understand your excitement - there's something about the bidding process that makes it all the more exciting and I always have my heart pumping throughout the process.

There is nothing like that feeling!! Your first auction--how exciting--I was watching for a while, too. I considered bidding, even tho we aren't golfers. I love Portugal and I just want to go everywhere! So cool to get the timing for your stay--I think we can all say that you're officially "HOOKED".
Yippppeeee for you!"wherever you go, there you are"

Imbus, yes, the more I think about it, the better I think the idea with a forum for outburst and excitement when winning bids would be great. Not only for the winners, but also because it's great for all of us to see what's going on. I am sure LL would benefit from it too as newcommers will see that people actually GET something great when bidding. And yes, I got my package extremely cheap. When I have told people about it today they don't believe me! :-D
If you're going to Bergen you should msg. me and I can guide you to the best hotels and other things to do. Bergen is well known for the rain - it's always raining here. BUT when it's sunny, it's the most beautyful city in the world. Everybody say that, even people who are from Oslo (the capital)! :-D
