We just returned from our 4 night stay in the beautiful city of Prague. I won the bid for the Maxmillian Hotel and was absolutely delighted. The Hotel is in a perfect location; far enough away from the tourist area to remain quiet and yet close enough to walk to all the sights.



The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and the Hotel was perfect. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the main street and yet was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had, lots of fruit and vegetables along with eggs, meats and pastries. They offer free coffee and pastries all day in a communal room with a fireplace. They also offer free internet. The package I purchased also had 2 free massages, which I took myself as my husband isn't interested in massages (they were great) and they also offered 2 free floating sessions which we didn't use.



There were many Hotels offered in Prague on the LL site, I am glad we decided on The Maxmillian.



Prague is a magnificent city, we will go again.

kyschel...thank you for suggesting the Hotel Hoffmeister in Prague....yes, we took the duplex suite and used the jacuzzi several times.... the stone bath was fabulous (who doesn't enjoy prancing around in the nude inside a hot cave after a few drinks)....Delta did a fine job in Business/Elite.....and we actually arrived ahead of schedule (and was pleased to learn our luggage accompanied us on the same flight).

Hi polyak3469. I just returned from a second short stay in Budapest and have a few bits to impart (adding to all those who advised me in the Europe boards--thanks again, check the offerings there).
Our favorite tour is the Eurama hop on/off bus for 4.500 huf (about $24/adult). It's 2 hours w/out debarking--all the stops are in 30 minute increments (except the lunch hour) and orignate at Intercontinental Hotel. You can buy cash tickets at the various stops. 24 hour validity allows you to start one day and complete any missed sights the next day until tkt expires. This particular line stops frequently, whereas the others only have one major stop at the Citadel restaurant. There are numerous tour boats that cruise the Danube (aka Duna) for folklore shows, dinners, etc. You can walk up to most of those and go immediately. The Vaci (walking street) offers cafes and prices from decent to outrageous, so I advise to scrutinize the menus and have great patience if it's a busy day--service is not always expedient...The indoor market at one end of the Vaci is very nice to check out--meats in the middle, spices and veggies/fruits on the sides. Second floor is non-foods. Prices don't vary much unless you can haggle and it's apparently not that common for tourists to get a deal.
We have twice been thwarted by the Saturday factor to see the Jewish Quarter in depth.
We stayed at the Kempinsky Corvinus which has a marvelous small spa (closed last wk for work, so they offered service at Le Meridien next door) The breakfast buffet at the hotel was exquisite but at Eu20+ it should be. If you need a taxi from the hotels, make sure they call one for you--our drive-ups to the airport were E34 or E20 (5.000 forints) IF you pre-arrange 2 hours prior thru concierge. ATMs were abundant and many people spoke English.

Prague is still my favorite European city. I think you'll find a lot of info in those boards. I have purchased both LL pkgs (see Omegaet's review from recent return)
and rented an apartment. September is a hugely popular month for milder weather--it's been brutal in Eastern Europe (95+ on 3 of our last trips in June/July) It's still in-season but less traffic from the States.
