Priority Pass
Does anyone here have membership?
http://www.prioritypass.com/
I was just looking at their website and there are some very appealing deals for using various lounges at airports. I was curious to know if anyone has experience with this company? They utilize frequent flyer facilities for most major air carriers on a per use basis of pay as you go or max/per year or unlimited, pending membership price paid.
Looking forward to your feedback--thanks!"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: Priority Pass
Hello Shelley,
I've looked into this but didn't end up buying it -- the airport I spend the most time in is Heathrow, and the offerings there aren't that great...mostly 'holiday lounges' rather than business class lounges, and there tend to be too many kids in the holidays ones. But the US lounges look much nicer, so if you spend a lot of time in US airports it might be worth it.
Cheers,
Julian

Re: Priority Pass
Wow, this is a pretty good deal, if you use it more than a couple visits per year. An interesting concept. Not sure I'm going to join since I really only use these lounges during international stopovers when I've usually used United miles to upgrade to Business Class (and thus get to go to the United lounge for free) but I've certainly eyed the club lounges longingly a few times over the year when traveling with long layovers...

Well, that's pretty cool! I'd never heard of that. Thanks, Kyshel...we'll keep this in mind.

Re: Priority Pass
I used to have a Priority Pass, but for some reason, it was not accepted at most of the lounges I was trying to use. It appears that if you are trying to use it in a particular lounge ie: United, and the airport is considered a hub for that airline, then the lounge does not honor the card. This has happened many times for me in Denver, San Francisco, Chicago etc... the major hubs. So I did not renew my membership.

Re: Priority Pass
I need to investigate more--there may be a restriction on us, being employee/spouse w/airline?

Re: Priority Pass
Another alternative to airport lounges is an airport spa!
Has anyone tried the new Urban Retreat spa at Heathrow?

Looks like a lovely way to relax during a layover.

Re: Priority Pass
Hi Kyshel,
We just got the American Express Accolades card from Bank of America. The annual membership for that card is $295.00 but was free to us as a Banc of America Premier Customer. This AMEX card includes a free membership for the Priority Pass. If you bring family members, they will have to pay $24 per person to access the airport lounge and this fee will be charged automatically to your AMEX card. We will be trying out the Priority Pass next time we are traveling.

Re: Priority Pass
Thanks for the follow-up--it seems like ages ago I asked about this--I appreciate the info.
Don't laugh--but one of the recent airline slogans was "good goes around"--ta!

Looks like the Accolades card from AMEX gives you a lot of travel amenities including a free Priority Pass membership. As a result of your post, I'm going to contact AMEX to inquire about the Accolades card toaugmentthe AirMiles card I now have with them. Kyshel is right about crowded airports and how enjoyable it would be to have access to a special lounge where you can relax in comfort while waiting for a connecting flight.
Curt .
