Re: Properties Affected by So. Cal. Fire Situation
Hi jashermd
San Diego has always been a place of interest to me, but I have never had the opportunity yet to visit. The news in Canada was that these fires were intentionally set. Did you hear anything further during your time spent there?

Re: Properties Affected by So. Cal. Fire Situation
Hi Two2Go and others,
Some of the fires were intentionally set, others were not. There were 14-16 fires total over the past couple weeks, many of which are still burning although very much contained. There was one fire in Los Angeles' "Canyon Country" that was accidentally set by a 10 year old boy. The fire closest to me, in Irvine/Lake Forest (Orange County) is considered an arson as there were two obvious set points. I'm not sure that any others are considered arsons at this point. The conditions were ideal for fires: extreme drought, heavy heavy winds and warm air. Really any fire could ignite and take off easily under those conditions.
JAsher, first of all it's great to see you back on the general boards again! Also, I'm glad to hear things were still functioning when you were down in San Diego during and after the worst of the fires. The air has definitely cleared up in LA, actually you were closer to the worst fires in San Diego, they did the most damage and were the least contained once they began. For a while there, it was really ashy, smoky and difficult to breathe over the entire Southern California area from Santa Barbara down to Mexico. It was really crazy. Thankfully despite the heavy damage there was little loss of life; it could have been much worse in that regard.
Glad to hear all of the LL properties (as well as the others I mentioned) are up and running and undamaged. Two2Go, you should definitely check out the greater San Diego area sometime soon. It is beautiful, serene and there are a lot of diverse, fun activities to fill your time.
