properties not available for auction
I have mentioned before about properties being advertised which you are you are not being able to bid on, especially the ones in Dubai, but I noticed now, written beside these peoperties, it states"there are currently no options on this property". Seeing that makes me much happier as it makes me think....maybe one day soon!!!!!I was so thrilled to see the resort which is my favourite resort in the world amongst these properties. It is Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa. This resort really has to be one of the places you mustexperiance at least once in your life. Yes, it is expensive but well worth every penny spent. From the breathtaking surroundings with nothing but rolling desert and Arabian Oryx and other widlife wandering around your very sumptious and very private suite with your own infinity pool. Not much in this world comes close as far as holidays go. If Al Maha ever does come up for auction, that is one I definately would want to win. And if anyone trusts my judgement thenI assure you that no one would ever be disappointed if they ever went to this exceptional resort. i've been 4 times so if anyone ever does book to stay there,I would be more than happy to help with any questios you may have. Oh how I sowish I was there right now!!!!!

Re: properties not available for auction
Thanks Omegaet, it's nice to be back.
Well remembered!! Yes we leave in 4 weeks time for Leopard Hills.I am getting so excited about going. This will be a totally different experience fromany other holidaywe have ever been on. I've finally purchasedmy new camera (Panasonic Lumix tZ4) so hopefully it will help me to get some wonderful photo's. Mind you, I suppose having a good camera is only half the story, the person using it has to take some of the credit, but probably in my case, some of the blame!!!!!!
Going on safari is something my husband and I have dreamed of doing for many years and now it looks like we are finallyfulfilling our dream.Only one teatsy weany thing is worrying me though.....the creepie crawlies. I don't lke them but I am going to be brave and put my fears behind me. Maybe after this trip, I may have actually conquered the only phobia I have......they are not going to spoil our dream!!!

Re: properties not available for auction
Hi M....I noticed the same thing but actually two different notices. One says auctions not yet available but check back often and the others just say no auctions. I agree with you and hope that the "check back often" means we might see some action. I have noticed this for Washington DC properties. LL-are we going down the right path with our guessings???

Re: properties not available for auction
I was just browsing through the Vancouver, Canada properties because I will be there in August. There are thirty properties listed, but only four packages are available for sale. My guess is that most of the properties are in a holding pattern right now and will be available for purchase in the near future. Maybe they're just trying to figure out how drastically they have to cut their prices to fill their rooms and they're waiting to see projections for the summer to see if rooms are filling up. I hope that Luxury Link is just waiting for these properties to put together packages so they can list them for sale. It's possible that with the current economic conditions and dramatic change in foreign exchange rates, it may be rather complicated to settle on prices for these packages. For example, the dollar is doing great against the Canadian dollar and Mexican peso and has rallied somewhat against the British pound and the euro.

Re: properties not available for auction
Thanks for sharing the information. Dont worry, Resort like big properties are not going to be sold out so soon because of the ongoing economy crisis. The resort owners would also be reviewing the economic developments which seem better than before because of combined global efforts.

Re: properties not available for auction
Pirahna - are you headed to Vancouver proper or Vancouver Island.? If it is the Island, LL has 2 great properties about 20 minutes north of Victoria. One is the Aerie resort. We went there for our aniversary last year. Amazing room and incredible restaurant. The views are beautiful, as was our suite. Across the street is another LL property - Prancing Horse. We did not go there but it looked lovely. New in the area of Victoria and Vancouver are Zip Lines. We did the zip line tour near Victoria last year. As little scary at first but great fun!

Re: properties not available for auction
Shygirl, thanks for the info. We're actually going to be in Vancouver rather than on Vancouver Island. I've been checking properties there and I'm waiting for the Loden Vancouver to pop up again as an auction item. I was going to buy it when it was up for auction a couple of weeks ago, but the certificate expires before we're going to be there. Yes, the Aerie and Prancing Horse look beautiful. We drove past the Prancing Horse when we were in the area several years ago and it's been in the back of my mind to return and stay there. There are nice packages for both places on Luxury Link. I hadn't heard about the zip lines, but I'll definitely look into them for the kids and possibly for my wife and me. My wife and daughter ziplined in Costa Rica and had a blast. Is there only one zip line company or are there several?

Re: properties not available for auction
Pirahna, the only 3 I know of are:
Adrenaline @ Vancouver Island (Victoria BC area) - http://www.adrenalinezip.com/ (this is the one we went to)
Air Grouse Mountain Zip Line (just north of City of Vancouver BC) -
http://www.grousemountain.com/Summer...-adventure.asp
And a 3rd one at Whistler BC.
Hope this helps.
