Re: Protecting your Health while on the Road
LHBrown ThanksI saw the same information on the vaccination web page that Omegeat gave me I'm not a fan of shots, or chemicals/medicines in general so since Europe looks to be OK I think I will not get any shots now...maybe I will discuss tetnus booster with my Dr but probably will be OK Thanks for the info ...Funtimes

Re: Protecting your Health while on the Road
funtimes.....there are many, many iterations of Murphy's Law.....one of my favorites, especially when taking the road less travelled is:
"if there is a possibility of serveral things going wrong, the one that will go wrong is the one that will do the most damage at the worst possible time."
Many of us are not fond of needles and excessive medications......however, I have personally witnessed far too many travellers who have experienced needless pain and discomfort.....simply by not taking a few precautions.
Now I will step down from my soap box, return to my caveand mind my own business....enjoy your upcoming trip to Europe!- Ω -

funtimes, if you're not a fan of shots or chemicals/medicines, just think about facing shots or chemicals/medicines in a foreign environment where you may not speak or clearly understand the language. What did LL-Travelfan recently post?
I took a nasty spill on my bicycle in Germany and wound up needing a tetanus shoot. I could have avoided that had I kept up my booster shots... Hind sight is twenty/twenty.... live and learnt-2-f

Re: Protecting your Health while on the Road
funtimes, while you're seeing your doctor also consider Heptitis A! You never know exactly what you are eating or where it came from, whether you are in a restaurant or hotelin a developed or third world country or evenaboard an expensive cruise ship (are you really confident everyone can read and follow that little sign about washing their hands after their visit to the w/c).
Let's see if we can keep your name as funtimes, rather than not-so-much funtimes!t-2-f

Re: Protecting your Health while on the Road
t-2-t....you're dead on regarding the wisdom ofinoculations for Hepatitis A.....even the white areas in the following map still represents a potential danger. I'll trade a couple of days of tenderness in the arm for the protection.
