My fiance and I just came back from our LL package in Puebla Mexico. We stayed at the Meson de Capuchinas for 5 nights. The package included 3 hour cooking lessons, 3 hour city tour, cocktail class, pottery class, breakfast daily and 4 lunch/dinners. It also included another day tour which we elected not to take as the destination was 3 hours away! Instead we chose to go horse back riding which was an absolutely amazing and special experience.
Meson Capuchinas is a small boutique property with 7 rooms that are tastefully furnished in a rustic, artistic Mexican style ( the pictures on the website do not give it justice, much more charming in person!) Although not a 5 star hotel it is a wonderful and solid 4 star property that is very comfortable. The staff is wonderful and accomodating and really go out of their way to be helpful. Fernando our driver and guide was unbelievably sweet, knowledgable, and muy guopo! Angel the front desk man became a brother to us. The bellman, Goyo kept our tequila coming! The kitchen staff delivered everytime and I will miss the breakfasts...I ordered the same thing everyday and boy did I enjoy the fresh fruits and chiliciles (spell?)!
We had such a super time and plan to go back and stay at Meson the next time we pass through Mexico. An absolute must if you love colonial architecture, nature, great food, and charming people!

redazalea, sounds like you had a great time and thanks for sharing with us.
btw, I think the spelling is chilaquiles, which I often order for desayuno when traveling in Mexico.

Re: Puebla, Mexico
Chilaquiles is the correct spelling. For those of you who may be looking for something to do with their holiday leftovers, there's a great recipe for Turkey Chilaquiles in the November 2006 issue of Bon Appetit. You can also find it on epicurious.com. The recipe is an old standby and we make it year round. Make the recipe as printed, but throw in a can of black beans. Muy rico!

redazalea....we think the Meson de Capuchinas in Puebla, Mexicois one of the better valuedLL auction packages offered here. Not so much that the property is a five start luxury destination (it isn't), but more that the entire experience is interesting, informative and just great fun from start to end.
We have recommended this destination and the cooking classes to several of our friends and have gotten the same impressions upon their return.
Glad you had a good time!
btw.....we still use their modified vegetarianreceipe for chilaquiles andfinish it with both red and green sauce....always looks impressive...but so simple to do!- Ω -
