We stayed at VDP Nuevo Cancun but did not have the ritual. Did you email the concierge?
I found nothing on the spa website and the youtube link had nothing, either.

I just saw 'Savages" and I'm a little touchy about any kind of rituals in Mexico.

Sounds like some I do frequently during most days, especially before eating.

What is it?

Their reservation center told me new guests are customarily greeted by a representative from their spa during the registration process and receive 'hand massages' with special lotions and fragrances - ergo, purification! Sounds relaxing, but I would trade mine for a cold margarita in Baja!
