Hello,
I've always been interested in staying in an ice hotel, though the one I had in mind was in Sweden (http://www.icehotel.com) I don't know why but the idea has always fascinated me.
I actually did look into staying in the Ice Hotel in Quebec (I assume this is the one you mean -- http://www.icehotel-canada.com/en/index.en.php) when I was there last but my sister was less than enthusiastic (her view was that we went to our hotel to escape from the ice which surrounded us outside -- given that I became rather ill on that trip it was probably for the best).
Have you actually seen the Ice Hotel (either one) listed on LL? I'm pretty sure I haven't seen the Swedish one.
Cheers,
Julian
Just look carefully at the available dates.....wouldn't want to buy the auction and find out the only dates available are June-August ;)
But really though...it does look like a great price for a very unique experience. If I had not just booked our family school-break trip to Paris in February, Quebec and the ice hotel would have been a great option, particularly as it sleeps 4.
Do let us know if you decide to book.
I've looked into this Ice hotel idea many times and while it does seem like fun drinking Absolute Vodka from an ice glass, and seeing the beautiful b&W photographs encased in ice in each suite, I think even for one night it will be way to cold ! I personally would not mind it but I have had resistance from my fiance. Two conditions humans don't like, being cold and wet !

are there any member of this community that have actually stayed in the Ice Hotel?
Hi Enew,
If you'd like to try the vodka-in-ice glasses but want to return to a nice warm hotel room, you could drop into the Ice Bar in London:

I haven't tried it yet, but plan to do so at some point...maybe during one of the summmer heat waves!
Cheers,
Julian
