Seoul restaurants

Hi everyone,

My husband will be travelling to Seoul, Korea and does anyone have any suggestions for great restaurants there. It's been several years since I've been to Seoul, so I'm not up on whats new and great.

I'll be interested, too. We'll be in Seoul on the way to Thailand. We're staying at the airport, but I understand the subway system is pretty good.

Hi Kyshel,

It's a long way from the airport to downtown Seoul, unless you are flying into the old Kimpo airport (which I'm not sure they even use anymore). The Seoul airport is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE with a lot of pretty cool shops in it. The airline clubs are really rather nice, some even have beds and showers in them (I flew biz class over there on one ofmy trips and there were separateclubsfor bothFirst Class andfor Business class on the airline I went on - cannot remember which one at this time. But the clubs were fantastic!.) So if you cannot get into town (I've never taken the subway- always been picked up by my clients), there's enough stuff to do in the airport.

Cathy--thanks! I forgot--you did the fabulous spa pkg at a Seoul hotel, right?
We got the BE seats w/miles so we can use the Korean Air lounge prior to flight. We're staying over 24 hrs+ since it's a tight connection to Bangkok if we don't. (and 20+ hours flying in a day!) I want to get our rest there and be ready to tour Bangkok and Hua Hin. I saw the ICN airport website and it reminds me a bit of Narita--a city in itself! Coming back, we'll just take a day room for 8 hours--then back to the States. Any thought about ICN please pass them on!

Since you have 24 hours on your way out, and 8 hours on your way back, I'd book a room at the Grand Hyatt up on the hill for the overnight stay. It's a lovely hotel, food is rather good, service is great and, the spa is to die for! Try and go for one of the 4 hour packages... they run about $150.00 and they cover the works, including the must have salt scrub! You'll feel like rubber when you get out, have a wonderful asian meal afterwards and crawl into comfortable beds... perfect after 20 hours of flying! You can book all of this on line, in advance, by going to the Grand Hyatt, Seoul website.



Now that I'm thinking about this, with my husband going there, if he has some free time, I'm going to book him a 4 hour special as a treat for him!
