kyshel, so sad Zuri, the baby Masai Giraffe in the Cincy zoo didn't make it - giraffes are my favorite. But one of the 3 finalists was Caspian, the Eurasian Eagle Owl at the Cincinnati Zoo.

We found ourselves watching thru the bush often to see how many giraffes we could spot--we'd say we saw 2 at first, then realized there were 6 more after screening the trees better, then finally stopping and taking a picture of 11. Such beautiful creatures!! Our rangers told us so many factoids about how they sleep and their bodies--respiration and digestion and more...
Yes, our little Zuri had a very short life.
Oh my --cheetahs!!! we had a band of brothers at Mkuze Falls Reserve--if you go there I'll give you their names.!
