Hi
Has anyone shipped luggage ahead to their hotel destination?

Re: Shipping luggage
I have shipped gowns, but never a suitcase. In comparing prices to ship one versus paying extra airline fees, the shipping always seemed to be higher.

I have heard it isn't a good option for out of the US. (if you live in the US). I did try to price it once to Virgin Gorda and I think it was going to cost a million plus dollars! I am not happy to pay the extra suitcase fee but sometimes it is worth it.

Watch out for certain chain hotels that charge a fee to receive packages, too. I saw a guest freak out when he found a $24.95 fee to accept a Fedex shipment of a large rollaboard--on top of the shipping/handling/fuel surcharges he already paid!!

Wow....that is a new one. I have never heard that, nor have I been charged a fee. I hope hotels are not going the way of the "nickle and dime" airlines.

Kyshel is correct. I know for sure that the Las Vegas Hilton does that as we had to ship a bag there and were surprised at the $50 service charge they charged us for it. I have also heard of other hotels doing the same thing. I think it is almost easier and definitely cheaper to just bring it along with us on the airplane (checked).
