Hi Mary-j-
I was away in the British Virgin Islands for a week last month. I did notice it was quiet here when I checked back in. Can't wait to get busy on LL planning my future trips.

I have just returned from a LL trip to the Snake River Lodge and Spa in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my life-long friend who has had a year of breast cancer surgeries, chemo and radiation. She is rather frail but up for anything, and we had a fabulous time. Thanks to the LL Community that suggested "toned down" activities for us. We had full days and even got snowed upon in Yellowstone National Park.
Now I'm ready to plan the next trip! Cheers...Marolyn

Re: So quiet!
Hey just back from LL Long Bay Beach Resort - we loved it soooo much that we forfieted our deposit on another resort just to extend our stay there - I'll write more in proper forum Long Bay BVI Tortola GREAT !!! We really needed this break since as some of you know I'vebeen caring for my Mom long distance in Az for 2 years now - that is why I'm not working now - well life goes on as they say - she passed away in May. Thank goodness our LL retreat awaited. Many Thanks to LL for affordable travel and to the friendships I've made here feel so supportive. (please send private mail to discuss)We are so addicted to LL that we are only home 6 weeks and off to Canada w/LL and we own a rental biz on the water - not great timing for travel ...but who can resisit? Later Italy awaits - these LL travels will help with our greiveing and with much needed respite to decide where our lives go from here - Thanks for listening ...Funtimes(not always)

Re: So quiet!
Hi Mary J,
Sorry to not be posting as much these days. We just moved, driving cross country (but ending up back where we started in California) - plus began a new job. Not quite as much time to post as before, but I am planning a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam (staying at LL's Evason Hideaway for a few nights) in August and enjoying hearing about everyone else's travels. I'll start checking the board more often as the summer progresses.
Happy travels everyone!

Re: So quiet!
Claassenman. Just read your post and noticed the Evason property you will be staying at. I was looking at my 2008 plans and saw an auction to Thailand using an Evason property. I am not familiar with the company. Have you ever stayed at their properties in the past? The Thailand looks wonderful but wasn't sure what to expect. Any ideas?

Re: So quiet!
Hi Bonniejoy,
We're staying at the Evason Hideaway in Nha Trang, and are looking forward to it. No, we've never stayed at another Evason but Cruisinred (and a couple others here) have stayed at the Hideaway and rave about it! From what I understand, and certainly price-wise, this is slightly superior and more secluded property from the standard Evason resort in Nha Trang and perhaps the resort in Dalat, although they both certainly seem very nice online. I read some mixed reviews regarding the standard Nha Trang Evason resort on Tripadvisor and all rave reviews regarding the Hideaway so we decided to pay the heavy price difference for the Hideaway. That said, I've heard very nice things about the Evason resorts in general, you probably can't go too wrong with any of them. Which are you considering?

Re: So quiet!
Just started looking for 2008 trips. There was an auction for Thailand. Really wasn't sure of the region but locataed about an hour from Bangkok. I am not very familiar with the Asia area. (never have been there.) We really want to look at all of our options. Our only negative is the flight length! We were playing around with flights to Bangkok. WOW. Its pretty long. (especially from the East Coast.) How are you flying to Vietnam? I believe you live on the West Coast. How are airfares? Thanks for any information.

Re: So quiet!
hi Bonniejoy-
Just thought I would chime in with a few comments about travel to Thailand and Asia.
Coming from the east coast, I'd recommend the Thai Air non-stop from JFK to Bangkok. Even in coach, this flight was far suprerior (seats, service, etc) to any other flight I've had recently on a US or European airline. For just a few hundred more, Thai Air also offers Premium Economy...a lot more legroom than coach, for a lot less $$ than business class.
As Classenam mentioned, we really enjoyed our stay at the Evason in Nha Trang. I like the company's green/eco-conscious style, and the service was amazing. I also hope to try their resorts in the Maldives (Soneva Gili and Fushi) and their new resort in southern Thailand, on a small island near Phuket (http://www.sixsenses.com/hideaway-yaonoi/index.php). This new resort was up for auction on LL a few months back.
Asia is a wonderful experience....I encourage you to consider it for your 2008 plans!
