Thank god I've never taken Spirit Airlines. I have a feeling I never will after hearing all these things about them.

This airline is unbelievable - I have never used Spirit and I don't think I would - their air fares would have to be pretty darn cheap to compensate for all the fees you have to add on! Can you imagine what a family with a few children would end up paying after all the fees!

We have never taken Spirit airlines, but I think you get what you pay for. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. I am not seeing traveling on Spirit Airlines in our future....

Why would anyone choose to fly Spirit Airlines considering their fees? Just don't get it.

Great post. This is why I never fly Spirit. I have in the past before they had so many fees, but they have just gone down hill. I can't believe they charge for a carry-on.

I think people still fly them because of all of their Caribbean flights. Those flights can be really expensive. Plus their hug is in south Florida and a lot of people in south Florida are from Caribbean islands..

Big money, and they don't have all of the 'union burden' to deal with in their business model!

Their pilots are union. Recall the strike a few years ago? It changed our plans for Peru. They are represented by ALPA, like most major carriers.
