Not viable at MIA. It would be hijacked and on a boat out of the country before you knew it.

Funny that you mention Miami, O. I had to stop a guy in Orlando who lifted our bag from the carousel and started walking out of the airport with it. He pretended that he was confused but he didn't go back to the carousel to look for the bag that was allegedly his. He left the area before I could contact the police.

Oh P....I always wonder about that at most airports. If you have a late flight coming in, the baggage carousel area is CROWDED with people. Most of them are walking in and out of the airport and not seeming like they are involved in a flight. It is strange. I really think the baggage area should be closed off only to arriving passengers.

In the olden days (again, with that phrase) you couldn't take a bag away out of the carrousel area at EWR without inspection of ticket/baggage receipt. Many airports had corrals and an agent at every opening... It has become a free-for-all.
Maybe traveling with bright color bags like neon yellow or acid green would be a deterrent? Better yet, "hello kitty" ?Last edited by kyshel; 10-13-2012 at 08:12 AM.
