Staying home or traveling?

Stored my carry-on and giving my lap top some rest until after the first of the year...no more business travel and steering clear of airports.

No holiday travel for us, other than several short drives to see close friends and family.

Also, we have no medical procedures scheduled (good luck to those have done so).

Merry Christmas (we can still stay that, I think) and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to everyone in the community.

Our fingers are crossed for continued successes for Luxury Link and may they add many, many more interesting properties in exotic destinations, with low starting auction prices!

All is well with us in Sarasota. We too decided to store our traveling cases for the time being and enjoying Sarasota. There is plenty to do and see right here. We are off to the Ringling Brothers Museum which has special holiday decorations throughout and holiday programs. They also have a wonderful little restaurant called Treviso with a strong Italian flavor which makes us dream of going back to Italy, but not right away....
We are healthy and lucky not to have any health problems/procedures scheduled for the moment. Let's hope this will hold through 2011.

Denise, I hope your procedure goes well.

I'm patiently waiting while my family is making me my birthday dinner tonight. It's actually on Monday, but my wife is working and won't be able to help the kids. I don't know what they're making, but they're excellent cooks and I'm looking forward to a great dinner. We're going skiing on Christmas Day. It's only an hour and a quarter from our house and the slopes will be empty.

Staying home was not so bad a decision after all, seen that so many travelers got stuck and spent part of their holidays in crowded airports, feeling lucky having caught a cot to stretch out on for the night. The weather in Europe and on the East Coast really raised havoc at most major airports.
We were told that Sarasota, FL was by 10 degrees colder than in other years in decembers. At least we did not have to content with snow!
