Re: New Auction Locations
I think we, as the LL community, have to shoulder some responsibility in providing new and interesting locations to the staff of LL, if we want to participate in the growth and direction of future auctions. I wonder how others may feel?

Re: New Auction Locations
This, I believe is one of the big benefits of buying auction packages from LL (at least it is a benefit to residents of the US, when buying in dollars and travelling to a destinationusing Euros). Thelast couple of trips we made to Europe, would have easily cost us at leasttwice as much, had we not purchased out hotel packages through LL. Of course, once we arrived in country, we still faced the unfavorable currency conversion.

Re: New Auction Locations
ihb, we bought a Morocco auction trip from LL last year and were a bit concerned. However, we had a wonderful time, hired a private car and driver and went exploringthe more remote villages within 24 hours of arriving in-country. What a fabulous experience sharing freshly brewed mint tea with a Berber family in the High Atlas Mountains.....and none of us able to speak a common language.
After returning, we both reflected on the negative images frequently displayed on TV regarding many parts of the world and realized how easily it is to become a "media victim" rather than an enlightened traveler.- Ω -

Hi Mary-j,
Good post. I am glad you were able to set us straight on this question of security. Although, I think, the general US public is still afraid to go there, it might take a while before they venture over there. I would be willing to explore Dubai, but I don't think I could my husband to go....

Re: New Auction Locations
Hi Curt,
I agree with you, it would be nice if there were more countries to chose from. I for one would like to see a few more LL properties in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Russia and the Skandinavian countries. Perhaps LL will listen to us in time....

Re: New Auction Locations
Hi Omegaet,
I agree with you. Perhaps there is a way to suggest to LL certain properties that we would like to see on LL. Perhaps we can enlist the help of a Moderator to check into that question for us.

Re: New Auction Locations
Hi Omegaet,
You are right, traveling in Europe at the moment is very expensive. The trip I have put together for us and our friends to travel to Paris, Florence, Rome and Naples is expensive, but without LL it would have been quite a bit more, and here we will be travel in style and enjoying many extras. So yes, LL auctions is the way to go. Now, if LL could increase the auction offerings, and expanding it to even more countries would be even better. Nonetheless, LL is doing an excellent job providing us with the properties they are currently offering.
