Suggest New Auction Locations

lhb, I believe it is our responsibility as members of the LL community to seek out locations and properties we would like to visit and pass the names along to the LL staff. I know, from having spoken to several representatives of past and present LL auction participating properties, that LL attend a number of travel conventions and soliciting business. I also know, they make internet solicitations for new listings. All I can do, at least at this point, is to encourage you and other LL community members to flood the LL staff with as many new ideas and leads as possible.

Thanks for the input. I will start suggesting properties I would like to see on the LL list to LL. Whom do you contact for this? Do you call LL and ask to speak to whom??? I have become quite familiar with their customer service, but have not had any personal contact beyond that. Let me know your contact person at LL.

Couldn't agree with you more omegaet. Wecertainly do have that resposibility and I for one have already posted a number of suggestions for LL to consider. I hope many others will also do so, as we ourselves are not now enabled to add Boards to the Community site.

Glad to see you too want LL to try to include a broader range of coutries in their Auctions and Buy Now sections. There's a wide, wonderful world out there and the more of it people who're avidtravelers know about, the richer and more varied our travel experiences are likely to be. And, as you've noted, LL certainly can and does help play a very useful part in achieving that.

From what I've read about Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is that Mary-j is quite right about it being quite safe for tourists. In fact, tourism is fast becoming its top industry, after banking. Oil in Dubai accounts for only 6% of their economy, unlike Abu Dhabi where oil is king.



For these reasons, the USA has a lot less interest in Dubai from an overall worldwide geopolitical perspective, than say places like Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. As a result, there are no American, NAIO or UN forces in the country and with no known terrorist groups.stirring up trouble things are relatively peaceful in this Middle Eastern country.

cj, for some reason, I think you may be located in Europe.....maybe up toward the British Isles. Those of living in North America needs all of the new properties suggestions possible from our friends across the pond. The more we all work together, the greater our possibilities with new additions to LL. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Curtiejoe for posting the link on Dubai. Lots of info on there but if anyone is considering Dubai as a holiday destination then they should check out the Dubai Forum on trip advisor. There is always ongoing discussions from people who have been to Dubai and those about to go or who are considering it for their holiday. It is a great source of information as many of the contributers on the forum have been on holiday to Dubai many times and some posts are from people who are resident there. When we were in Dubai in September we met up with a few others from the forum as we had become quite friendly through replying to each others posts. We still keep in touch regularly by e-mail. If anyone has any questions on Dubai then feel free to ask. HopefullyI will be able to answer them. Cheers

It would be good if there was something in place for recommending new resorts so that we could all add our recomendations. Maybe a seperate section from each area, e.g. a section for Africa, a section for Europe and Mediterranean, India, Indian Ocean & Maldives, Caribbean, Latin Americaetc. where there is a list of properties and we couldchoose from the list, and those resorts/hotels with the most recommendations would maybe warrant L.L. to make further enquiries into that property and hopefully adding it to their portfolio. It would be good if each section alsogave ustheopportunity to add a property that may not be on their list too.
