Re: Thailand Combo
For those of us who love to travel, I think that we are all in the wrong business. Kyshel seems to get great opportunities for nothing. The same thing happened when she visited Venice. We should all go work for Delta. HaHa!

Re: Thailand Combo
two2go--loved the HaHa.
When I was a young lass, I couldn't get a shot at flight attendant because I was too tall (guys could be my height--not I @ 5'12") So I went into sales and made my way in the fashion industry. I bet I would have never met the man I'm married to now, tho! Trade-offs...
Years went by and I just amassed a lot of miles and spent them, earned "points" and spent them and still trying to find a way to use those darned USAir miles I've been hoarding for so long! So, many of my freebies are just like yours and the rest of the community--saved and used along the way.
The free hotel nights in Bangkok are from all the years of drinking and eating at TGIF and buying electronics and office stuff online. The Delta perks are hard-earned by my husband, who, after 20 years with Delta and now a few years with me, is smart enough to know with whom he should share! (his laundress, best friend, love, chef, housekeeper, etc--see, I told you he was smart!!) Just keep in mind, I do pay; nothing's free!! HAHAHA
The last trip was a whirlwind--arrived 11 am--2 hour nap, all day roaming Venice, asleep by 11, taking off to NY 11 am next day. Still a taste is better than none..."wherever you go, there you are"

Kyshel
Somewhere along the line I misunderstood, I thought you also worked for Delta. We are all out to get the highest value for our dollar. Especially when it comes to travel. We have always traveled well, but you are right that between points gathered, and LL we can treat ourselves to real luxury.
I can't believe you did Venice in day. I would be dying, trying every trick in the book to stay in Venice!

Re: Thailand Combo
I think we all want to get the biggest bang for our buck--one of the reasons we're all in here: searching, wondering and contributing. If I'd never gone to Venice for a day, I'd have no idea what you guys already knew! I think I could go back...(in a FLASH!)
Going somewhere for a day is all about all I can handle right now. I love travel, but it is work! Hotels with points, trains with mysterious schedules, flights on standby, and more...So far, we've been very fortunate, like our South Africa trip, that everything fell into place. PS--I just saw the LL combo pkg for Tuningi Reserve and Michaelangelo Towers again--nice price!
I am having so much fun with some people in another forum, in particular, one Aussie couple who goes to Asia frequently. I'd like to share their travel website with you guys--I was SOOOO impressed. Being not-so-technically-inclined-as-most, I am very appreciative of their efforts.

Maybe I can do that when I grow up, y'all.
