07-12-2007, 10:01 AMTOP OR BOTTOM OF THE SPANISH STEPS IN ROME?
What is anyone's recommendation? We are debating among the Inn at the Spanish Steps, Hotel Majestic and Splendide Royal....would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks, Brenda

I'm not familiar with all of the hotels you mentioned. But I would highly recommend that you choose a hotel that has a rooftop terrace and or rooms with balconies. We rented an amazing apartment overlooking the spanish steps (half way up on the left)...the best part of it was that the apt had several french doors that opened up on to balconies/terraces that overlooked the steps. It was wonderful to be able to watch the activity on the steps from the comfort of a chair, feet up, glass of wine in hand....la dolce vita!

Cruisinred - I'm with you a balcony or rooftop terrace is the way to go!!! personally we chose the Piazza Navonna section of Rome. This seems to be a great place for nightlife , shopping and centrally located. Our trip to Italy is at the end of this month so, I'll let you know more when we return Happy travels...Funtimes

Hi funtimes
Where are you staying around Piazza Navona? The last time we were in Rome we stayed at Suites Navona (B & B), and enjoyed it very much
The location was fabulous. Another observation would be the beds, they were the most comfortable in Italy.

Greetings two2go,
Thanks for the recommendation. I've been looking for a place just like Suites Navona. Can you tell me if there are many stairs to climb? I'll be going with my 68 yr old Mother and more than a flight of stairs might be too much for her.
Regards

Re: TOP OR BOTTOM OF THE SPANISH STEPS IN ROME?
Hi everyone - We tried to get into Navonna suites at I believe 22go's reccommendation but 2 night stays are required and since our flight leaves Rome airport at 6am we chose to stay our last night at the Hilton airport. We will be staying one night at Hotel Teatro - formerly a bishop's residence. It looks really interesting and many of the rooms have balconies or terraces. Sounds wonderful I'll let you know how it goes We leave Friday Yeah!!! Rome then Casa del Neri villa -LL in Tuscanyand Villa Zuccari Also LL in Umbria. We are really looking forward to it! Take Care...Funtimes
