travel dates for 2012?
This is mostly for the LL moderator but anyone can chime in.
I noticed there are very few packages that have dates listed into 2012 - I know last year I booked in May for my March 2012 trip and was wondering when more 2012 dates may become available?
We rarely if ever travel in the summer (Peru was the exception since the best time to go to Cuzco & MP is our summer) - too many travelers and children travel when school is out.
Still trying to decide where to go - so many choices and not enough $ to do them all! Get lots of vacation time but not enough pay!
Where are folks planning on going in 2012?

What is the "shelf life"?
One important consideration on whether I can bid on a package or not depends on its "shelf life". If the availability dates expire in 1 or 2 months, it's often difficult for me to travel on short notice. So I like auctions that have a long "shelf life".
OTOH, I understand it's the last minute, or shorter availability timeframes are more attractive to resorts and easier for LL to obtain. Just saying.....Last edited by jmbklj; 04-29-2011 at 06:23 AM.

Denise,
Did you mean you booked last May for your March 2012 or 2011 trip? I haven't seen anything that was good for a year and a half.

jmbklj,
I did notice too hat the "shelf life" of most LL packages has become rather short, especially for mystery auctions, and, I have not seen any packages for 2012 yet.

I booked in May/June 2010 for my 3 March 2011 Mexico packages. I can not travel on short notice due to work constraints and the fact that in order to travel well - I need to budget extra $ towards the proposed trip event

I agree with Denise! I have been watching for 2012 properties for Greece, South America, and the Caribbean. I did fine one great option; Nevis-Montpelier Resort. I would love to have more 2012 choices. (PS-I do like that the dates do appear on the scanning page. I would love it added to Family Getaways packages.) I also agree with Denise that I do need to book very far in advance.

04-29-2011, 06:46 AMNope, 2012 is way too far out for me to plan any travel.
I don't know what I'm doing for dinner today.
I like the quick impulse trips.
Well, it only took me three years to pull the trigger on my upcoming Peru trip.

these days I can only do 1 trip a year so I like to plan in advance and do at least 2 weeks - would like to do a longer trip but work would not let me take off for 3 or more weeks in a row.
