Travel shows on tv
Other than the normal travel TV shows, what do you think of some of the other travel destinations on TV? For example, have you watched "An Idiot Abroad" on Science TV? I find it very interesting and funny. Also, the show, "The Bachelor" was just in Costa Rica and they will be heading to Anguilla. The next Survivor will also be in Nicaragua. The new location looks like Lake Nicaragua (I saw the new team names and they are the lake regions.) Any other feedback?

I initially missed the new Idiot Abroad but it's now on Tivo and I look forward to it. The Science channel has a special feature today that takes place in Palau (former Survivor location) and a new destination for Delta (via NRT Japan) DL will fly into Koror and it's expected the island will be getting some new hotels and resorts. Apparently, it's a bit $$ and limited in "luxury" facilities at this time.

"The Bachelor?" Yuckkkkk! My teenage daughter watches that show and it never ceases to amaze me how they can fill two hours of television with ten minutes of programming.

Hi P.....Anguilla will be on this week? so I am watching...we have heard some feedback from our Anguilla friends so want to see it. I did see a property in Nicaragua that said "One beach over from the "Survivor" beach".....YIKES!!! I still remember the 1st time going to Guatemala and the airport was selling "Guatemala Survivor" tee shirts!

But you have to sit through all of "The Bachelor" nonsense just to see a little scenery. Not worth it.

Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern are my ideas of travel shows, although, the idiot one looks like it may have promise.
Did you know that when Survivor was filmed in Tikal Guatemala that it was a fake set - they were not actually allowed to film in Tikal National Park!
I do like the Amazing Race and watch it sometimes since they actually do go to many different countries and actually show some scenery

Watched the Bachelor in Anguilla last night...very interesting. I believe Cusi had been opened just for the show; no other guests. I loved the "street" festival. Again, for the show! I did miss Anguilla while watching...only a few more months until we return!

You have to love the drama and the cheesy background music on "The Bachelor."

I love the Amazing Race! I love seeing all the countries and some places I've visited along the way.
Anybody ever thought of doing it? I bet there are few LL'ers that would do well on Amazing Race!

New season starts this Sunday!!! ( I have it on TIVO since Ill be on my way to Roma) I adore Phil Keoghan and his demeanor (he's pretty HOT, too!!)
I couldn't pass the physical with heart issues, but fear of heights would do me in the first time I had to repel or bungee or similar. I'd love to hook my nephew with my husband to do it--they are darn-near fearless."wherever you go, there you are"
