Travel Sites
Just wanted to share my (other) favorite travel site - Travelzoo.com - great resource for just announced discounts. You can sign up for their weekly top 20 that's e-mailed every Tues or Wed.
Anyone else have a good travel resource to pass on?

Re: Travel Sites
Wow. I have never used that site. How does it work? Were there restrictions on times/dates/air carriers? Do they offer just air or air and hotel? Have you ever used them in the past? Thanks for sharing some ideas especially concerning airfare.

Re: Travel Sites
HI BonnieJoy, I just noticed your post. Sorry it took so long to respond. Travelzoo just sends e-mailalerts on different carrier's "sales". They do also have hotels/packagesetc. It's fun becuse I can travel spur of the moment sometimes and if I see a great deal I can just grab it.
What travel sites (besides LL) do you use?
I also like IgoUgo forinfo on other people's experiences. Still looking for a great research site, LL (on their old web site) used to have a travel research link that I really miss.

Re: Travel Sites
Hi Syrene. Do you have to travel at the last minute or can you book in advance for TravelZoo? For travel research, I go to the specific country's site. For example, for Anguilla, I use www.anguillaguide.com. For other places in the Caribbean, I use www.traveltalkonline.com. Most of the travel resources I use come from people in the country. For example, a great company to use and book with is tropical discovery. They are experts in the Central America market. They can put together a trip based on your interests and budget. They are a wealth of knowledge.

Hi Syrene-1
I wish I had another great site to offer you, but I don't. I sometimes look at Expedia orRedtag, but the only site I every bought from has been LL. I lookedup the the site you have suggested, and did not notice any kind of deal like the one you mentioned. Would that be a special offer that is offered through their e-mail. If so I will register! Have you already used the flight you got at $9.? Is so what kind of aircraft was offered?

Has anyone used skyauction.com? Their prices seem too good to be true!

Re: Travel Sites
Have looked at their properties but never used them. Seems about two years ago, I saw a "too good to be true" property so called the property to check my dates before I bid. Their first response to me was ....."WHAT!" They weren't aware they were on their auction list. Well, at this point I was quite confused. The property quickly disappeared. Seems there was a "marketing" problem. Of course, no one seemed to thank me for bringing this to their attention! (And, I had stayed at this property in the past.) So, from this experience, I haven't bid on their properties. I would love to hear feedback from others who might have had a good experience. I really would like to hear about someone who got airfare through them.
