Twelve Days Of Christmas Specials
Did anyone receive any notices from Luxury Link regarding Twelve Days Of Christmas Special Auction Packages?
We have hoped for years, Luxury Link would put together a special group of packages at this time of year and offers them up for auction on very special terms. This seems to be a much more common practice for many Internet companies each year.
One of our local wine and spirits companies sends out a daily special email notice (coupon), offering a deeply discounted offer. The inventory is limited at each location and when the supply is gone, the deal is over.
We had so believe the creative minds at Luxury Link would come up with a Twelve Days promotion this year, but so far nothing in our email.....and worse, we are now down to ten days. Looks like we'll have to wait and hope for next year.
Anyone have any suggestions for our Luxury Link Team for next year?- Ω -

12-15-2011, 06:15 PMOh for sure. I'm totally into that idea. There are all kinds of possibilities.
Like, just give 24 hours to place your bid. Make it a one bid auction. You get one, just one time to agree to the amount you are willing to pay for the auction. It is a secret bid.
No one else knows until the end. So we are not playing this $1 Mystery Auction game.
Put your money behind you mouth and top bid takes it all. I love it.

I like all your suggestions. I agree with a very short bid time (24 hours). Lots of fun and adds a little spice to the auctions.
We still have time! It could also go until the end of the Year!!!

If I am recalling correctly, there were three auction possibilities:
SINGLE TRAVEL AUCTION: One vacation package available. Bidding is open until the auction closes. You are free to submit as many bids as you want.
DUTCH TRAVEL AUCTION: Several identical vacation packages available. All winning bidders pay the same price, the lowest bid.
BEST SHOT TRAVEL AUCTION: Name the highest price you are willing to pay. One bid allowed.- Ω -

If the auction only allowed you to travel during the Holiday season then it would do nothing for me, however, if you had the"12 days of christmas" auction and had an expiration date past the holidays, then it could be fun!
We never, ever travel during the holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas or any of the other high travel times like spring break, etc.

12-20-2011, 02:18 AMNo, dhdanner@verizon, the suggestion was for a series of holiday auctions based upon "The Twelve Days of Christmas," the English Christmas carol that enumerates a series of increasingly grand gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas. The auction packages would not be limited to use during the Christmas holidays, but would have normal expiration dates. Just another way for Luxury Link to offer a grand promotion during the holiday season and focusing on unique experiences.- Ω -
