I wanted to give somecomments on locations I have purchased through LL and rate on 1-5 scale-5 being tops.
1. Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland, WA - wonderful trip, fabulous room with lake view, package included spa treatment and staff were wonderful, champagne and strawberries were great on balconywith view. 5.
2. Abigails Hotel in Victoria, BC - B&B with remarkable breakfast! Bed was so comfortable if not for the sites to see I could have spent the whole day there. Short andbeautifulwalk to main shops and downtown. 5+
3. Westgate Hotel in San Diego CA - I purchased a 4 night package for my daughter & hubby for their honeymoon. They came back with rave reviews of the location. Beautifully decorated.Perhaps I will find time to go myself. My daughter rated this as a 4+.
4. Stevenswood Spa Resort in Mendocino, CA - Had problems from the beginning with this property. Hard to make a reservation for an open date. They indicated they had only one room designated for LL participants. When I did get a reservation they offered to upgrade me to a better room - went to their website and the upgraded room was advertised on their website as a room for $100 less p/night than the LL package. The 3 night stay turned into two because when we arrived they notified us that after night 2 we would have to move to another room since the room we were in was pre-reserved for night 3.Instead of moving, we left. They had no rooms available for 3 nights in a row although the reservation was made 5 months in advance and they claimed they were booked in all rooms but the one we were to move to. When checking out there was a couple complaining of issues they had too with their room not being up to agreement - guess what? they were LL customers too. But they told me they only had one room forLL, so how did they accommodate both of us? The floors were all linolium with throw rugs and the resort did not have a welcoming/home like feel. You could hear people walking in the halls on the hard floors. One good point, the restaurant dinner was very good and so was the service since we were one of two couples in there.I would never recommend this property to any of my friends. They did not meet the package offered by LL and they only have one room available (questionable). You may never get to use your package before it expires. Rating 1.
We have also stayed at properties in Sausalito, CA and Tiburon, CA which were great, but I haven't seen them advertised for some time.Hope this information is helpful to someone traveling these areas. Happy travels.

Francine...Yikes! What a trip to Stevenswood. I'm especially concerned about your report because my non-profit orgnization bought a 4 night trip for four people that we auctioned at our major fundraiser. One of our most gererous supporters bought the trip, and now I am concerned that they be treated well.
LL Moderators, please follow up on Francine's concerns so future LL customers, like my group and donors, will have an enjoyable experience at Stevenswood. Thanks...Marolyn

Hi Marolyn:
I was reading comments on the bid page from others who stayed at this property and there were twogood reviews. Perhaps mine and the other couple's stay was when management was having an off week. I hope things work out better for your winner. Oh and if they need an extra bed, the propertycharges an additional $50 for a rollaway. I thought this was outrageous.
Happy Travels.

Hi,
We, too, stayed at the Stevenswood Lodge and were very disappointed. I think it was a rip off. We, also, stayed at an LL hotel in San Francisco that was terrible. I cannot remember the name. We were promised buffet breakfast, a suite, ride to and from down town. We did get a suite, with no AC, no breakfast and no ride. All I did was complain and demand what we paid for. I wrote to LL, but I never heard from them.
This experience with LL turned me off of their trips completely. I now read that you have had many successful trips. My husband and I would like to fly to San Diego for five days or so and stay near the water. I read that you recommend the Westgate? Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated, especially which trips to stay away from.
Thank you so much,
Barbara Thode

Hi Barbara:
Sorry to hear your trip to Stevenswood was a bust too. I guess some of us expect to have what we purchase and when not delivered by the property, that makes it poor customers service and false advertising to me. LL should check closer to what the property offers and if it delivers as agreed.
The Westgate Hotel in San Diego was purchased for my daughter and hernewhusband. The two of them ravedabout the place and said they would go back on their next trip to San Diego. Since I did not personally see the property, all I can tell you is what they described to me as a fabulous trip.
I have not visited any other properties in San Diego area, but I highly recommend the Woodmark in Kirkland Washington if youevery plan to goto that area. That was a wonderful trip. Great service, room, view, and breakfast. Everything the package promised and more. We plan to purchase another package after the first of the year and go back again. It is a beautiful area to visit too.
Before I purchase any package, I check out the property on the website and any comments that may be posted. This has helped me to purchase or decline several packages. Although as we know from the Stevenswood incident thisdoes not always work.
Good luck in your search and happy travels.

Hello LL community For those interested in San Diego Hotel Ddel Coranado is THE place to go. If this is out of your budget (and not on LL) try the chamber of commerce. We stayed at a mansion converted into hotel directly accross the street from Hotel del Coranado once It was fabulous ...sorry my memory fails me for the name - Not much help but I'm sure Coranado or Ssan Diego Chambers can assist you. We just returned from Cathedral Mountain Lodge LL property in Alberta Canada - WONDERFUL can not say enough WE LOVED IT!!! THANKS LL!!! Moraine Lake Lodge - a sister property to Cathedral Mountain would also be great - better menu selection in moraine dining room restaurant however gets day crowds of tourists and not as new as Cathedral Mountain Try this one! Cathedral Mnt is a winner!!! ...Funtimes
