Omegaet: Of course I wasn't going to say anything until I won the bid! I used the LL certificate on Finca Blanca Rosa in Costa Rica. We had planned our 2007 travel schedule and were finishing up the November trip back to Costa Rica. This property will work beautifully with Hotel Punta Islita. Now, I am going to be out of vacation time for 2007 and now looking into 2008. LL has made me an "addict"!!!! I did see some additional offerings this year and was quiet pleased but sad that my trips for the year are booked. I thought the St. Barth's villa was great. I had actually looked at staying at this villa before we started to go to Virgin Gorda. Also, I see Guana Island is back. Wish I would have had the opportunity to bid! Hope someone else can enjoy those properties! Have you used the LL certificate yet???
bonniejoy03...we haven't used our certificate yet. We are still in the formative planning stages for the holidays trips for '07. Most of the travel so far this yearhas been confined to business.....so no LL opportunities have come into play.
Hi friends - I've just used the certificate on the Guana Island auction! I was also looking at Peter Island, but when Guana appeared I went for it.
For those who have recently received the certificates, just remember to notify LL before your transaction is completed. As a precaution (really for myself in case I forgot to notify them), I removed my credit card information from my profile. During the auction, I sent an email asking to apply the certificate in the event that I had a winning bid. This worked out well.
I'm now also out of vacation time for 2007, but never too soon to start thinking about next year!

Hi Disneygal,
Thanks for the tip on the CC information. As a new VIP I haven't received a certificate yet -- are there any restrictions on how thy can be applied (e.g. minimum auction cost)? A few years ago I had a $200 certificate from LL that I never used because there was a minimum auction cost of $1,000 and none of the indidividual auctions I bid on were over that amount (it seemed pretty silly to look for a more expensive auction just to use it when the properties I actually wanted were less expensive).
Cheers,
Julian
Disneygal. I envy you!!!I have always wanted to go to Guana. Years ago, it showed up on LL but hadn't seen it recently. This is one of my "picks" for properties. What month are you going? We will be in the area in September (Virgin Gorda.)
I am also out of vacation for 2007!!!! I am frustrated because I am seeing some new and exciting auctions. I am searching on LL for 2008 offerings. My picks for some of the newer offerings are Guana Island and the Villa in St. Barth. Oh well, guess I can just wish. (Can't really complain though, Arizona, Anguilla, Virgin Gorda and back to Costa Rica for 2007 for me!)
Hi Jashermud. No, there are no minimum trip prices to use the $500 GC. The GC has to be used for travel though and no goods or services. There is a 1 year expiration date. Have fun using it. (PS- You should get it real soon. It does come by email.)
Hi bonniejoy03,
We're targeting late November for the trip to Guana Island. So, too bad we'll miss you in the BVIs. Wow - you have a great travel plan lined up for 2007! For next year, we still have Costa Rica on the wish list, but I'm also intrigued by the LL options for Peru. And of course there may be a new LL offering that will top all of my current ideas. So, just have to keep watching, and that's part of the fun!
