01-04-2007, 07:29 PMVacation for Mom's 60th Birthday
Hi There,
Istumbled upon this site about a week ago and I'm hooked! All of the vacations look wonderful and I am so excited that I've found you.
On to my question. . . my Mom's 60th birthday is on Sunday, January 7thand I am seriously considering purchasing a trip for the both of us to visit Italy. (Neither one of us have been to Europe before.) Based on my research, various people have recommended that first timersvisit Rome, Florence andVenice. I'm looking at spending abouttwo to three days at each location. What are your thoughts? Should we only visit two of these three locations? Are there any packages that offer the option of visiting severalsites duringyour vacation?Do you recommend any specific hotels? LL is a great site, but it can certainly be overwhelming with the various options. Based on my Mom's schedule the best time for us to visit would bemid-June.
Any assistance that you can provide is certainly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tammi

Thanks for inquiring about my Mom's trip. Well, unfortuantely, just prior to booking the trip to Italy/France, my Mom fell and hurt her knee really badly. She's scheduled for surgery within the next month. So I decided that a relaxing Carribean vacation would be a better idea. I booked a trip to St Croixabouttwo monthsafterher scheduled surgery.Neither one of us have been there, but we've heard that it's lovely.
So it looks like I will postpone our trip toEurope until later this year or next year.

Hi tchestnut
Good to see you back on-line. Sorry to hear about you Mom, and wishing her well. St.Croix is very beautiful and a good place to relax under the sun. Were you able to find something on LL for St.Croix?I don't know if you ever booked a trip on LL, but theirpackages are always first class.
