Valid Postings?
Pachacutec, do you happened to be employed by or or you an agent for Inkaterra? If you are neither, please forgive my very direct question and considerposting some actual experiences involving your travel with Inkaterra in Peru. If, on the other hand, you are an employee or agent, why not disclose the fact. There areseveral threadsin this community from members who have made trips with both Orient-Express and Inkaterra. I'm notwhat yourcomment about Orient-Express and "last year" means.
If I am mistaken, please accept my apologies in advance. Like many other members in this community, travel to Peru holds great interest to me!

Take a look at Inka's Empire Tours in the "Buy Now Offers" and "The Portfolio". They started offering private tours with Orient-Express hotels, trains and restaurants long before Orient-Express itself did (which was only last year). Service is excellent (see "Quotes from Our Guests"and prices are actually lower than Orient-Express charges (especially considering that Inka's throws in the travel insurance). May not be as cheap as an auction, but at least you can "buy now"...
--Pachacutec04-21-2007 07:03 PMInka's Empire Tours offers tours in Peru with Orient-Express hotels, trains and restaurants for a better price than Orient-Express itself does. Check out the current offers in "Buy Now Offers" and "The Portfolio".

Re: Valid Postings?
I shared the same suspicions regarding this first time poster.
Also, I am confused by the statement regarding Orient Express Peru hotels offered by Inkaterra....as none of the Inkaterra packages offered in LL feature O-E hotels ??

Re: Valid Postings?
LL_Moderator_ks, t-2-f & cruisinred....according to the information provided last January, LL does not allow the advertisers to bid on auctions, however, there was no mention of a prohibition of their posting blind comments. Both of these posting...how seem a little suspect.Looking back through the history of the Peru postings in this community, there is a strong favoritism expressed by the winnersof the O-E auction packages....however, we didn't notice any "negative" comments regarding the Inkaterra trips.
Having been fortunate enough to have taken the O-E Peru package, we would certainly votein favor ofthe "location" and "size" of theOrient-Express Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge over that of Inkaterra hotelat the foot of the mountain in the town of Aguas Calliente. We ate at the Inkaterra hotel andenjoyed a spa treatment on the day of our departure.....both of which we enjoyed.
However, given the opportunity of staying on the mountain next to the entrance to Machu Picchu or staying in the town next to the train tracks, we vote for the mountain!
Maybe LL will look into the origins of these two mystery postings!

Dear jspaen1 and all Community Members:
We at Luxury Link would like to make clear that under absolutely no circumstances are resorts/hotels/cruises etc.able to bid on their own auctions. Thank you for your question on this, so youmay rest assured that this is not something we would permit on Luxury Link.
Thank you for all of your thoughtful posts.
