Hi! A winning LL package has us going to Manchester, NH and then driving to Perkinsville,Vermont for 4 days. We will have 2 more nights to fill and 3 full days when we leave Perkinsville. Any ideas from anyone n where to go/see/stay are appreciated. We will drive back to Manchester to fly home. There MUST be somewhere we need to visit in New England in July! Hi paularec, I'm a little surprised that no one has responded to this yet, since there are so many choices. Summer is a great time to enjoy to New England. My favorite spot in Vermont is Stowe. That would be an easy drive from your first location. There are quite a few places to stay. I like the Gables Inn. You might try the Stoweflake or Topnotch if you're looking for a spa. If you're a fan of the Sound of Music, there's also the Trapp Family Lodge. Lots of little shops, restaurants, and New England charm. I recommend Miguel's for Mexican food. If you enjoy ice cream you might like to visit the Ben & Jerry's factory (samples always included). Another favorite is the Lake Champlain chocolate outlet - great chocolate, for less!

Going south, you could visit Boston instead. It's not too far from the Manchester airport - about an hour and a half, depending on traffic. Personally, I would stay in Vermont. But if you have some ideas about what you're looking to do, we could offer more specific suggestions.

There are quite a few places you could visit within a couple of hours of Perkinsville. It depends on what you like to do, antiquing, hiking, shopping? You maybe done with all of that after NH and VT. Perhaps a little excitement and tradition is a good way to wrap up your trip, eh? Saratoga raceway is open in July and you can get easily find a package at a B&B or hotel in the area. You can even get a spa package at the motels in Saratoga. If you can't find a place to stay in Saratoga county during track season then try Bennington VT. It's a lovely little town on the border of NY and should only be a half hour or so from Saratoga. If you're interested in art I will post were you might go from there. Let me know.

We've stayed a few places in Saratoga, but I liked the Fox n Hound the best.

I like the suggestions of Boston and Saratoga, NY. I have posted extensively on Saratoga, NY. However, Saratoga might be a little far to travel from New Hampshire. I suggest you have look at my post about "Portsmouth, NewHampshire a Mini-Boston on a Small Slice of Coast" We found Portsmouth quite interesting and enjoyed our stay there. If you prefer the mountains to the coast, I would suggest a scenic drive around Mount Washington and the presidential range. Here is a link for it:

We particularly liked the Kancamagus Scenic Byway which I pasted here for you, but there are many others, just refer to the above link. - Good luck.
New Hampshire - Kancamagus Scenic Byway

Description: The Kancamagus Scenic Byway passes through the heart of the White Mountains. The route climbs to nearly 3,000 feet as it traverses the flank of Mt. Kancamagus near Lincoln. The Russell Colbath Historic Site was built in the early 1800's and can be found along the byway, along with numerous scenic areas and overlooks.
