Virgin Limited Edition destinations
Has anyone stayed at any of Sir Richard Branson's luxury properties?

In the past, LL has offered auction packages at Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco, but I never seen in offers for Ulusaba Private Game Reserve in South Africa or NeckerIsland his private paradise in the British Virgin Islands.
Would anyone be interested in bidding on one of these?- Ω -

Re: Virgin Limited Edition destinations
I have actually been interested in going to Ulusaba for the past couple of years.I did contact Virgin and was sent lots of information from them on his three Limited Edition resorts. I doubt if I would ever be able to afford to go to his Necker Island resort! I would be very happy to see L.L. feature these properties. I do like the sound of his property in Morocco butnot sure if I would choose Morrocco as a destination. We have been there twice stopping off for the day on a cruise but actually felt a lttle scared, although we really only visited the markets(souks) so never really got a feel of the place properly. We did visit a local dinner show with belly dancers etc. but that is not your "real" Morrocco. Ulusaba certainly is one resort I am seriously considering but not sure whether I would opt for the "Rock Lodge" or the other lodge(sorry cannot remember the name of it). Has anyone been fortunate enough to stay at Ulusaba who could tell me about it?

I've actually docked right on the coast of Necker Island. It seem like a great place and the have these really magnificent fireworks displays at night. It seem like a big celebration there while all the other islands in the area are very quiet. And I'm sure staying on Necker is not cheap either.

I think it can only be booked if you book the whole island or at least you have to book as a large party. It certainly looks beautiful and would be perfect for a wedding/honeymoon where the happy couple and guests would enjoy this private retreat together. It would turn out to be a very expensive wedding or honeymoon, but if you can afford it then I would say"why not!" Does anyone know if it is possible to ever book it as a couple? I am sureI read somewhere that it was available for a very limited time for individuals rather than large groups? I expect lots of celebrities will come here?

mary-j...
When we visited Marrakech a couple of years ago and stayed at the Riad Kniza (a frequent LL auction offering), we drove out to the High Atlas Mountains to do some trekking. On the way, our driver asked if we would like to see Kasbah Tamadot, which was still under construction/renovation. The caretaker staff members were very hospitable and took us on a tour of the facilities and grounds. Even though they were not open for business, we were offered freshly brewed mint tea and an assortment of traditional sweets. Needless to say, as is the case with anything Sir Richard anoints with his Virgin brand, the place exceeded most expectations.
As for safety in Morocco, visiting Djemaa el-Fna, the main market square in Marrakech, can cause initial uneasiness, however, the furtherwe travelled inland from the Mediterranean cities and even away from Marrakech, the morecomfortable we felt (it just took us a couple of days to adjust to a different culture). As we got into the High Atlas Mountains, we found the Berber people to be quitesocial and welcoming. We hope to return to Morroco in the future and spend more time in the remote and smaller town and maybe some time in the desert.- Ω -

VIP7...if the price were right, would you bid on a Sir Richard property auctionwww.virginlimitededition.com?
It appears from their web site that they are expanding their holdings. Necker Island may never make the bid list, but some of the otherdestinations looking interesting.....if you read one of my other postings in this thread, then you will see that his Moroccan property is top of the line!- Ω -
